Grab a set of feeler gauges and do it yourself. The biggest hazzard to working on your pump is the paint on the boat. When you or anyone else (GS, TPR, Jim Brock, MPD, ETC) goes to pull that transom adapter off, the risk is that the paint will lift with the silicone. Outside of that, its just a couple of simple hand tools and some feeler gauges to get an idea of what kind of shape it's in. You can use a guitar string or piano wire to cut the existing silicone to get get everything apart without risk to the paint, but when you go to re-seal, you're going to need to remove the old silicone and thats where you may run into a problem with the paint.
As far as close, Jack at MPD is the closest, and would be my recommendation regardless of distance, but thats just a personal preference.
