We run the Mississippi in the Prairie pool. The weekend after Labor day we'll be there again. We go after 4th of July every year too.

Bring your boats too, the Koshkonog Speed runs this weekend 8-19-06 it's a 1000ft radar run. In years past theres been some flats, and jets, nothing sounds better than the bigblocks. If stopped by L/E be sure to let them know your there for the speed runs. Racing starts at noon till 4 ish, tech is started by 9am. See you there :rollside:

getting closer to the weekend after labor day? have a few questions about meeting up. sept 8,9,10th?
1. do you camp or hotel and where?
2. what days are you planning on being on the river.
3. are you planning on going up river again or down, is there 92 or better octane gas or should i bring additive? i have a 50 gal tank.
4. need directions on where you put in.
5. noise restrictions on the river?, do i need to run quiet?
sorry to sound like a loser but it's been 10 years sense i ran the mississippi and not up to speed on what it's like today. thanks jeff

What happened Chuck????

What happened Chuck????
First off it was a fuel pressure / ignition problem, that escalated with a water control valve that stuck open, complicated by a broken reverse cable bracket...causing 3/4 open bucket. Fuel was a blockage in the rh tanks check valve, causing the fuel pressure drop. The 3/4 open bucket... was discovered after the last of three runs, it has the wrong cable, so I ordered the correct cable today. Kill switch flaking was found out on Sunday, lost fuel pressure on both pumps and ignition, so will need to address that too. I'm not used to working on my crap on the water  it bothered me I had so many problems at once :)
I've been real busy with Eddies Century Sabre, it's real close, we might fire it wednsday night, and break it in if all goes well. It's gonna look killer in the water for the first time, a sleeper for sure, after some tuning.

Just moved to Milwaukee but will be working an hour away by many of the lakes. Curous where to find out more info of nose limits and others that are out there. I dont have a boat yet but am considering a 18 jet or a 22 apache. I just havnt made the plunge yet but, I know by next year I will have a boat.
Thanks,
Jr
