I'd be in. I'd chip in for gas too.
... but I ski like a guy who only gets about four good ski weekends per year to hone his skill.

Is that Shasta?

Is that Shasta?
Nope...it's a tucked away swimming hole compared to Shasta.
Only 3 miles long. Basically perfect for small boats and camping.
Not far from Sacramento but hard to get into.

It's top secret, but it's named after a song about miner and his lost daughter.

I want the job pumping gas and selling ice at their boat dock.
The place hasn't change much. They re did the parking and the ramp but the road getting in hasn't changed.
That's what keeps people out.

HCS isn't the only one who has to pack his boat full to get to that undisclosed lake. These shots are of us at that same lake circa 1985. http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/824Copy_of_Home_built_Hydro_on_Wriedt.jpg

Still packing it in to the same lake. This one taken a little more recent if you call 3 years ago recent. Been going to that lake since well before the Auburn/Forresthill bridge existed. That was a real NASTY trip on the tow vehicle then. But we kept the boat in the marina then, up thru about 1983.

It has 40mph (might be 35 can't remember) limit on it, so it is NOT worth going to........LOL!

LMAO That's one of the funnier quotes on this forum. I remember those days of closed bow jet boating. All my crap would end up against my foot throttle. Could have used one of those crows nests.
If I had a secret lake like that nearby I don't think I post it on the internet?. So what's the name? :rollside:

:D That's funny.
Classic pics of packing it in. The freaking ranger gave me a warning for over loading my boat with gear on my way in.
Tried to tell me I had to pack it in-in 2 loads and not to try to make it in one.
He said it was a misdemeamor to be over loaded. I said ok..what ever, can I go now. :rollside:
Been going there myself for about 20 years. The first time I went there was before the bridge was built. That was a long drive back then. :)
