I have a chance to get my hands on an old Lincoln flathead and I'm looking for ideas. More like, what can be done in a boat w/ a flathead. Drives, rigging, hull size, etc....
I've always thought the old engines were just cool as chit.

Not me, there's afew pics on another website of that same Brendella gettin beat up in the surf at Catalina back when they used to race out, then back the next day.
I did find a few more pics, although I don't really like to think of 20 years ago as being old school! here's 2 of my buddy "Rapid Richie" McLaughlin in 2 boats he drove in the 80's. the first one was a sponsored ride, the second was his own boat Moody Blues

The pics. you have are cool for sure. Do you have the web site that has those catalina pics. I think the fact that they ran boats like that to catalina is some wild stuff.

the web site belongs to a friend, he's also a mamber here occasionally named Craig, take a look at the website, the pics are in the Boats section, but it's a great website for all of our misc. toys and hobbys.

Im into them but my old man is a flathead freak. He's putting together parts for a 8BA for his 50 F-1 right now. Im going to put the rotating assembly together here pretty quick....so iv'e been told. This one should be a lil runner when its done.

My avatar is my 1959 Campbell Runabout powered by a 401 Buick Nailhead.
Not a flathead as requested but I think it's worthy to be included in this thread. Posted info prior, purchased it this year from original owner (47 yrs!).
Pretty much original (including it's wooden trailer). Turns lots of heads and I'm real happy to own her. Lots of plastic boats out there, not a lot of mohogany ones.

Thank you gentlemen for all of the pics.
With your help, I've made a mess. :)
I saw a pic a few months back of a flathead in a boat w/ the exhaust run to the inside and the intakes on the outside. Ring any bells?
