I am starting to repair this Nordic to be my first boat! Reading this forum has me hooked. So here I go. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/AudioJet/jul20_001.jpg
It has a crack in bottom of hull so it needs to be repaired, and I am going to be replacing stringers and doing a setback for the pump.
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/AudioJet/Picture001.jpg
As I was getting to the crack, someone tried to fill the crack with Bondo..
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/AudioJet/Picture003.jpg
So the stringers are removed and all the bondo stripped....

Well keep you guys updated! Thanks, Erik

put a layer of some good material over the crack, such as 1708, then fill in the strakes with 1/4 round wood, then layer over them with more glass.

Looks good Audio. I am redoing a Nordic as well. My stringers were good though. All I had to do was reglass the bulkhead and now I am coating inside the hull. The rest of the boat is in pretty good shape. It looks like the original gel coat as well. I am running a BBC/Berk combination. I just got my interior done and now the boat is ready for final assembly. You do nice work. Have you done stringers and such before. My hull is a very light hull, I am assuming yours and Snake's is as well. Anyway good luck.My site shows some work on my nordic.

This is my first boat and first crack at all of this. This boat has long way to go. I am going to do lots of trick fiberglassing on inside "keep tuned". It seems to be a light boat, maybe 300+ pounds not really sure. I am going to be using a olds/berkley set up for now. Thanks....

Ok Pal, let's stop and talk about this first, what type of resin and glass did you use?and what and weight? and how did you prep the hull before you started glassing? not that it don't look like a great job..it does! I just want you to be safe I would hate to see you go out and it come apart.. that my friend would NOT be good ...just tell me a little, just to ease my mind, thanks

TJS; I dig the thermostat housing and the water inlet mannifold, that You made.Do You fab and sell these parts, and what is the cost of these parts?
Audio ; the Nordic project looks good.I am restoring a 73 Kona and am goind through the same things. Its allot of work but the outcome will be worth it.
There are alot of people that will tell You that You should scrap the project for a newer or better hull that does'nt need as much work but I happen to like the projects...Hal

well I am going to remove the side tanks and put one tank under the floor to keep it clean looking. I used a used tank out of another boat " thanks mike" but it needed to get cut smaller to keep under floor so I got it all ready now to start putting the floor in.http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/AudioJet/boat005.jpg
This is how much I cut the tank down, sorry I forgot to take pics of the tank while cutting it apart.
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/AudioJet/boat007.jpg
I am starting to cut the floor I will be glassing it in and covering with resin.
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/AudioJet/boat008.jpg
Well thats it for now... Thanks
