Is it normal to have to grind a little off the loader to sit correct? When I went to put it in it hits where the pump and intake meet and holds the back two mounting holes off the intake by about a 1/16.

I'll bet it isn't really uncommon, although I didn't have to with my new one.

Sounds like whoever made your loader was a poor fabricator. I'd talk to the shop that you bought it from before you start grinding on it.

I had to grind one about 1/8" when I put it on the Dominator intake.

I had the same problem with my loader for my Dominator. I think that most of the loaders are made for Berkeleys an Dominators are slightly different. I didn't have that problem with my Berkeley that I have now. Juat my opinion.

I had to grind mine a little here and there. It was mostly sloppy weld chunks that were on the edge of the plate that needed to be removed. My holes were smaller than the stock rock, so I had to drill them larger so I could match the holes.

I had the same problem ground down about 1/16 to make it fit. Also used black nail polish where I ground It looks like I never did anything at all

I had to grind off a few places on mine. No biggie, just made it fit better.

Who knows what brand or who made it but its a little different than what most of us around here use.
It appears the ramps are cut back about 4"-5", the depth of the ramps appear to be fairly deep and its got 3 ramps feeding the intake rather than a more common open center loader which only has 2 ramps to feed the top of the intake. Cant say if its good or bad till you test is against something else.

Looks like a GTH from the Bay Area of California. Haven't been made in decades.

that boat ran slow out of the hole but great at high speed. Maybe I ought to try something different like you said to test. Must be some reason that they don't make these any more..

I don't know, but it's ugly! The least you coulda done is sandblast it or something and cleaned it up a little.
