Is there anyway to temporarily lock out the surge brakes for backing up? I know the electric lockout is on there but is there a mechanical way? This is the double axle with hydrualic surge brakes. Thanks

Mine had a small key that when inserted near the slide mechanism...it locked them out.

Well there is prob a set of holes on the coupler that you can stick a pin in and stop it from moving. If not there could be in less then a min with a drill...

Extreme has a little clip that goes over the surge mechanism that clips in place and keeps the tongue from compressing when you push it back. Should have come with your trailer. Otherwise, a stack of pennys taped into the slot does the same thing. Make sure you remove the pennys before trailering though.

Or put a C clamp on it so it cant move, but watch the paint.
