Minimoose:
I had to make up for the Bakersfield debacle! So now you can chow on all the sausage you want and wash it down with an ice cold beer!
Are ya happy now brat boy!
Ross
On a serious note there will be NO RED CUP CLUBS ON-SITE during the racing and any entrepreneurs that even think of selling beer out of the back of their car's to anyone (including Long Beach City officials) will be cited and or arrested and escorted off premises! This is no joke! Last year, I found out after the event that we had some jokers selling beer out of the back of their trunks and offered a Coor's Light to my City Contact for $2.00. Security is going to be tight and COOLER'S WILL BE INSPECTED! Let's not give the minority any excuse to complain about the races. There are many dark forces at work looking for reasons to go to the city council to get the race cancelled in the future!

The Southern California Speedboat Club
Presents:
Long Beach Sprint Nationals
“Race Against Hunger”
Saturday & Sunday August 12th & 13th , 2006
Championship Circle Boat Races
The Southern California Speedboat Club (S.C.S.C.) will be hosting the 2006 Long Beach Sprint Nationals, Saturday August 12th & Sunday August 13th at Long Beach Marine Stadium – (5255 Paoli Way). S.C.S.C. has been hosting boat races at Long Beach Marine Stadium since 1946! The race is sanctioned under the American Power Boat Association (APBA) and is being taped for a later broadcast on the national cable channel- “The Water Channel”. A percentage of the proceeds will be going to benefit hunger relief through the Foothill Unity
Center Charity, in association with the L.A. Regional Food Bank.
Once again this years program for this two day event will see the Cracker Boxes & Grand Nationals competing for the coveted A.P.B.A. National Championship; the Grand Nationals -Circle boat competition for the Big Bad Blown “V” bottom boats led by two time defending champion Lanse Haselrig #790 “My Pleasure” W.L.A., CA who will be looking for a “Three Peat”. Also in 2006 an extremely strong contingent of Cracker Boxes (over 20) whose unique “hard chine” flatbottom design is the oldest continuous class in the APBA will be on hand with the defending National Champions, Steve Tustison & Jeff Hansen #P74 “Hotwire” from San Juan Capistrano, who too will be looking for an elusive third consecutive National Championship Title. Former APBA champion Jerry Ross, P69 “The Enemy” and his daughter Amy Ross P96 “California Girls” and a vast array of boats will be there to try to stop the team of Tustison and Hansen.
Next up, round #5 of the Western Pro Stock Racing Association championship series will see if defending Long Beach Sprint Nationals and APBA Champion, Aussie native Chris Kenner in the PS681 “Loud & Proud” can hold off the field of 12+ Pro Stock inboard flatbottom boats including the fully encapsulated Biesmeyer hull of Jeff Wooton PS346 “The Rocket” (Pasadena, CA) in a duel on water with boats reaching speeds upwards of 120 miles/hour down the straightaways.
The 3rd stop on the Western Formula Light Series tour should see some 15+ teams including the current series points leader, the brother team of Shawn (#12) and Spencer (#24) Love from Thousand Oaks, CA looking for a win against past Long Beach Champion R.J. West #45 (Red Line Oil) and Team UFL’s Jeff Schmitt, #49 in his bright yellow and black hull from Olympia, WA. Other local favorites are Chris Henderson #86 (San Pedro, CA) and Sean Comer in #93 Skelton Racing Team out of Newhall, CA. The Formula Light Tunnel boats will prove why tunnel boats are some of the hardest turning machines in any form of racing today with the boats capable of pulling 3-5 g’s on the single pin 7/8 mile course.
Back again for this year are the Personal Watercraft Racers (PWR) as some of the top riders in the country including the defending Long Beach Sprint Nationals 2005 Champion, Yamaha R& D Factory rider Mike Follmer #1 (Fountain Valley, CA) looks to defend his title over driving sensation Pat Roque, #77 (Huntington Beach, CA) and a field of veterans and rookie competitors. A tribute to the “golden age” of boat racing the Nostalgia Endurance and Nostalgia Flatbottoms led by Brad Stellman #711 “Spearmint Rhino” and the “Super Cinders” Allison Powered meticulously restored 1960’s Endurance race boat owned by Mike Leach, Orange, CA. But the competition doesn’t end there, returning after a five year absence from the Sprint Nationals will be the K Racing Runabouts. The Blown Alcohol Flatbottoms return to the stadium for an awesome showing of all out horsepower.
On display on the East side of the Stadium will be some of the best race & V-Drive boats. .
The Spectators are urged to get there early (gates open at 8:00 a.m.) and bring their beach blankets (sorry, absolutely no alcohol as coolers will be inspected) and visit the many vendor displays including SCSC display booth and pick up a souvenir program and T-Shirt. Also, new for this year will be a Beer Garden in addition to several great food vendors
Tickets are $10 per person at the gate. Children under are 12 free. Parking $10 /vehicle and Motorhomes East Side Only $15/day. Come visit us on the web at www.scscracing.com (discount flyer available in Auto Trader Magazine). For more information please contact Ross Wallach (310) 318-401

To All Race Teams, Vendors, V-Drive Display and Spectators, here is the schedule of events:
8/11- Friday 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Racer check in thru pit gate entrance
*Note: Do not attempt to enter the pits prior to 1:30 p.m. the "Land Meets Sea "handicapped games" event is still going on and we don't want to impinge on the disadvantage's fun your cooperation is appreciated!
After 1:30 p.m. you will taken to your assigned parking spot - remember truck and trailer. No additional vehicles in the pits during race weekend, this will be strictly enforced!!!!
From approx. 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (possibly later) you can "clear" registration or late register ($50 late fee on Friday), remember to bring your APBA card, Club Card, proof of physical (if required). This will done at the Judges stand, not the pit area per Ann Hoban.
9:00 p.m. - Lights out policy in effect- this means NO GENERATORS, NO MUSIC, ETC. there are a few neighbors watching every move we make and let's not give them a reason to complain. Also, No Alcohol in the pits.
8/12 Saturday August 12-
6:00 a.m. Pit gate will open on a per boat basis- so you may come thru the gate and one of my staff will take you to your pit area. As soon as you park, turn off the ignition again NO NOISE at least until 7:30 a.m.
6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.- All late arrivals must be in their assigned pits and "clear registration" at the Judges stand.
6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.- All Vendors to come thru the pit gate and go into their assigned booth space.
6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.- All V-Drive Display boats enter the East Side of the Stadium and set up.
8:00 a.m. Spectator Gates open to the public. Once the parking lots are full at both sides of the stadium the overflow parking will be at Colorado Lagoon parking lot (Note: please follow the signs directing traffic to the Colorado Lagoon parking lot). I am working on a tram to take spectators to and from all three lots.
Please note that anyone bringing a motorhome must comply with the 9:00 p.m. light's out rule which includes generators. The City has mandated that all Motorhomes/RV's be respectful and park correctly in the spots, not lengthwise. No Alcohol! Spectators please know that coolers will be subject to inspection and all alcohol will be confiscated per our permit with the City and P.D. The City is going to be very strict this year so work with them and comply with the request and we can guarantee ourselves many future years of racing at the stadium!

9:00 a.m. - Fire motors.

Any questions please let me know.
