I'm building an 800 DP to try on my 455. I noticed the bigger acc pump was on the rear, is that where I'll need it the most? I saw an ad for a marine 800 and it had the big pump in the front. What has worked for you guys?

There is more to carb tuning than just switching acc pumps around. I would suggest you purchase and read the HP book on Holleys. For now, just put the 50cc shooter in the rear as it was originally. After reading the whys and wherefores of Holley tuning tricks you will realize it was there for a reason. If you had a short stroke, "light switch" rever you MIGHT benefit from two 50cc shooters and the necessary other changes needed to make them work, but that Olds will like a little time to gain RPMs and the added fuel later in the power curve......Buy the book, please........MP

Gee, I thought that's all there was too it! :boxed:
You put it in the front for torque, and in the back for HP right? :)
Thanks anyway

Maybe if you understood what the accelerator pump did, or why it was there, you wouldn't have to ask.
BTW...they're 5cc pumps, not 50cc.

Actually it is a 5 cc pump, but they are rated by volume after 10 pumps, so you're both right.........MP
Yeah, "thanks anyway"...........
