I'm thinking you're 12' short! You could re-paint the 10'er to match the 22 and have quite the setup. Technically you would have 32' of Schiada, if not a 32' Schiada!

That would be pretty cool and I am thinking about how we can do a trade on that place - I would like to see the boat for sure next time I am in Huntington. Who is doing the interior?

Those little boats are so cool. Am sure would be fun at Havasu in the channel.

I weigh about 200 and I thought it was going to flip as I got in it. I had a 12' Daytona before and I don't remember it rolling as much as this one does getting in. I have had tournament boats for too long though - I really enjoyed not having a windshield in front of me driving this one.

I bought a bench and two buckets from Lee at Schiada. They're used but almost match perfectly. I'm doing the seat bases myself. Let me know when you'll be in the area.

As far as I know they still have the mold - last time I was at Schiada I thought I saw a 12' mold as well. Nice pool by the way.

So what's a hydraulic setup going to run me?

LOL... I don't think you want to go down that road.. What a pain in the ass. :D I think it already has a power trim on it right? If it doesn't, I'd put a power trim on it and call it a day..
I'd start with the small CMC unit (rated for 35 HP) but look around to see if you can find any lighter ones.. It adds a little set back as well. You will probably want too put a set of tabs on the back of it. You could get really cool and make Cav Plates if you can fabricate stuff, but a set of fixed tabs really helps out the 10'ers quite a bit. According to Squeezing Spectra anyways, but I'm inclined to believe him being that he's had 10'ers, 12'ers etc..

The only thing it has is the ability to change the trim, with the engine off in shallow water manually moving the pin the engine locks onto to. The engine is mounted direct to the transom. My 12' Daytona had a set back plate that was about 10 inches that set it back and up. I may do something like that as it would be fairly simple to make and all the hardware is polished so matching would be fairly simple. I had the engine up a bit to see what it could do and to get on plane I had to lean up over the dash but after rolling on to plane it took off (at least as much as 30 HP can take off).

Sold it to Flat Stupid here on the boards.. :) Check out the V-Drive section and there is a thread called "Flat Stupid your boat is done" on the 1st page. :) I finished it and it was gone the very next week.

This is the power trim unit I would probably use. It's easy to install, and somewhat lightweight, the Pump / Hydraulic etc.. is all self enclosed in the billet unit outside of the boat. :)

Still I would look around at some other ones as well and see what you can find. I used their jack plate, and their trim unit on bubbles, but ended up using pretty much the hydraulics and a couple of little parts. Units work well though. :) Heavy, but reliable.

I looked at that boat there at Kings 2 years ago. The guy had a place right on the water there in Kingsburg. Cool deal to see it again.

He is a local guy here in Glendale, but he does have a place up there on the river, nice setup too. He named this 10' wanna be as he had a 21 foot same gel. I was taking a ride down river and ran into him and his wife at the south end of Royal Oak. We started talking and he told me it was for sale - it was a done deal at that point. I still want a 21, but this one can hold me over until then.

It was the one item I actually have sold to someone on the boards. I sold it to a guy who had a superman logo as his avatar, lives up near Sacramento and is into v-drives if I recall correctly. If you do a search you may be able to find him/it and see if he wants to sell. I only saw one other 12 in my life out at Castaic years ago.
Dave - thanks for the links on trim. I may pull it apart this winter and change the gel/interior around. He was running a real small battery so I need to change that as well so I can put a stereo in it.

They must be putting something in the glass then, 'cause our 21 makes our girls grin like that, too... :)

I was amazed at her ability to drive. She will be 3 this month, but she was able to turn the boat and go around the island up there at Kings River. She lost focus a few times and started steering toward what she was looking at. I was doing the throttle and wearing the lanyard of course and she was sitting on my lap but for 3 I was impressed. Can't wait until she can legally drive - we can ski all summer.

Congrates. I guess you have to start some where right? those little boats are to bitchen. I was talking to guy in one at Needles about a month ago and we floated down river he really had to pay attention to the other boat traffic :supp:

Its tiny and low to the water - in fact its smaller than most pwc's these days - I could see being a little worried in high traffic. Up at Kings they have driven away so many people it is pretty mellow - I raced Jay Vern from the boards here in his ski centurion and lost to a tournament boat...pretty sad - but fun - I have some video - see if I can post it.

Worse - it was my old Ski Centurion that I sold him - great ski boat though - best wake aside frfom skiing behind a flat bottom IMO. I have a Tige now and at 28 off and shorter is the sweet spot for me as far as coming accross the wake.

I`ve got one not really wild about the colors and the last people kind of messed up things but really love the little guy.The thing I`m sure you know likes calm water. I misserd a beautiful Black one a few years back kind of playing the bidding thing with him, became offendes and wouldn`t sell. I regret losing that one was mint. I`ll try to finf Superman thanks for info. The boat is cool!! Your little one is awesome have fun keep it for the kids. :)

Jay Vern - sounds like plan - let me see if I can find a better prop...
3 Daytonas - I think it did well in a little chop too. I took mine from Alamitos Bay to Shoreline Village in the afternoon one time. It was a kick bouncing from wave to wave. Had to keep backing out of the throttle as I was leaving the water so much. Got a little wet. Not sure I would do it with the Schiada though.
This was my favorite pic from the weekend - Jay Vern - tell your wife I said thanks for the pics.
