View Full Version : We had an UGLY Surprise...

We took the Marlin out to Jordan Lake on Sunday. (We were able to ride around more this time, since we put a bigger fuel filter on to catch all the red paint debris.) Once we got out in the lake, we noticed that every time you hit the gas, the boat would shake and shudder like it was going to come apart, and when you really hit the gas, it felt like the impeller was slipping.
So...yesterday, we pulled the bowl off. We found out what was causing the problem:

So, until we get it fixed, we're back to being boatless. :mad: :cry: :rolleyes:

When I saw your heading about "an ugly surprise" I thought maybe JR had come to visit you guys. Sorry about your luck w/ the impeller. Hope you find parts real soon. I know how it feels to be sitting around waiting on something to show up.

Yeah, it sucks... we bought the boat thinking all we had to do was clean it up & drop an engine in it... :cry:
That's hardly ever the case though, right?

That impeller has seen better days, and today isn't one of them. :frown: Better you found it now, than after you towed the boat somewhere, far away, for a long weekend.

guy over on ebay sells alum impellers for a good price look him up......it may suprise you and u will be back on the water sooner :)
