What is the average price you guys pay for full coverage on your bikes?

Kilrtoy
08-02-2006, 10:56 AM
I cant see paying more than 400, anything beyond that is crazy....

HavasuSelect
08-02-2006, 11:05 AM
Is that for a 6 or 12 month policy?

$500 per year per bike; 2 bikes.

Kilrtoy

12 month....
it has been two years since I had a bike, but it was valued at 35K and would be paid out at that, for 630 a year 250 deduct. My buddy has a road king and it is 380 or 390 a year...

Who is it through? I called everyone when I got my bike and $600 was the cheapest I could find.

07 or 06. The new 96" motors are nice

HavasuSelect

Hopefully the 07. This is my 1st bike so I'm willing to take anything right now. I know after I get it I'll prob want the 96 rather then the 88.

Unless you get an SMOKIN deal on an 06 find a 07 you wont regret it.

Also try calling Bartel's in Marina Del Rey. They have 07's in stock, two of my buddies each picked up 07's last week from there for a pretty good price and they were the only ones who would really deal with them over the phone.

Right now we have 20 big twins over here at HD of Glendale and we are dealing on them if you are interested. I just bought the last 06 FXDBI - but there are a few Dyna's, Touring, Softails and V-rods. 2007s are also coming in.
Insuarnce is not too bad either - we use Progressive and Foremost.

Yes. I work behind the scenes so to speak. I do have an insurance license though, so when someone needs help with insurance I do help with that and will help out if someone is upset or has an unusual need etc.
You come here?

I try to avoid working Saturdays if I can. Every now and then I have to work a Sunday. If you are ever here on a weekday let me know. Always good to put a face to the name. I am the only Gary here.
Yes they are dealing on the 2006's. I think it is a tremendous opportunity. As you said the new engine and trans are going to make it hard to clear 2006s out. However, for a new rider, a good deal on a 2006 might make it worth while. My FXDBI came with the 6 speed, so the only thing I did not get is the bigger engine. I can live with that based on my deal.
If anyone that sees this thread and buys a 2006, tell them I sent you.
Thanks.
Gary

Why wait, we will throw it into the deal for you. Our Buell guy is real knowledgable and we have a pretty good representation at Willow for the races. We have one of the new XBRRS on the way you may enjoy seeing up close.

We may have to talk soon. I sold my Moto Guzzi and have an Exile style rigid being built but it's probably a month or two out. Being bikeless is killing me! I would love a Ulysses but 5'6" me can barely swing my legs over it. The XB12cg with its 28.6" seat height is right up my alley! Next time you see the Buell guys can you see if they can do to lower the Ulysses to cg height?

Talked to the Parts manager and he said they aren't new - been out about 2 years? We have them in stock and they are the most popular - sounds like the ones you want?

Hmm... That's interesting. Why would it do that? Wouldn't it give you a discount if the bike and car were with the same company?

Yep, that's what I got.
Stand alone insurance was far more than that.
AAA added it to existing my car/rv/Homeowners/boat policy and it was $88 more according to the Wife.
