I like it. More than my brand new 06 but then it wont be $30K for an LT 4x4 crew either I am sure
Be nice for me if they do a 6.2 High output 1/2 ton crew.

I added some info in the post. 6.0L 367 HP motor will be available from what I see in the 1/2 ton crew. Check that link again and scroll down.

No one was real sure if they like the current body either, when it first came out. New styles grow on us over time. I for one don't think the short bed looks like it fits. Looks like an add-on.

All I know for sure is, I'm gettin' a red CC Dually 3500 w/ everything and putting it on the ground. Just gotta wait a little longer.

yeah, all you naysayers are right - it sucks and won't ever sell and none of you will buy one. yeah, right.
this happens every time a new model comes out. guys bash the designs and some of them are the first ones to buy it when they see them in in the showroom. the rest of you want to buy them but can't.
and then there's the ford buyers :D

As soon as a few peeps get some on the ground and a few in the air, they won't be able to keep them on the lot(s).

New styles do grow on you but this long time Chevy guy is done. Styling is not the problem. I have 4:10 gear and the HO 5.3 (315 HP) and it is a dog. NO POWER AT ALL!!! The motor is reined in by Chevy software called Torque Management System. It is designed to save the drivetrain of the vehicle. It is so bad it scares me to pull out in tight traffic. Notice HP and gearing. It is a piece of shit. Had truck and boat parked on slight hill (maybe 3% grade). Took off up hill and was concerned it was not going to make to the top. My boat is only 24' and 6000# loaded on trailer. Notice HP and gearing. It felt like it was in 3rd gear.   :( :( :(
That much power with the low gears I should be able to yank stumps out of the ground. It makes me sad because I am a long time Chevy man.
Dont tell me to get a chip to bypass the Torque Managment System. Get caught with it and it will void the warranty per my GM tech. Why tell you you have the power if the computer will not allow you to use it. The truck is 2005 Z71 extended cab. Im done. Im pissed. Im sad!

I was pulling 15,000# with my last gas motor (2004 2500HD 6L gasser), and it did not do as bad as you are saying. I pulled that trailer as far as 250 miles and didn't see that bad of results. They say there are not any problems?

Everytime you tell this story I feel bad for you!!!
Your truck is the exception and not the rule.
I have owned 3 LSX based trucks and never had anywhere near the problems you are talking about.
I say program it with a Diablosport and flash it back to stock before you go in for service.(Takes a minute)

Actually I think the new Tundra looks very nice. The color they choose to showcase the new truck makes it look worse than it is.

Honestly, any truck with the right accesories, tires and wheels can look great. Some of the stock photos from the manufactures really don't do the trucks justice.
You think they might wise up and show them off a bit instead of presenting them like they were just in a photo shoot for the sears catalog. :D

Maybe the 2500 or the 6.0 is not as restricted as the 1500 with the 5.3. I dont know. The tech tells me that the power is normal.

I have wrote about this before on this forum. Most of the lack of power is at slow speed. I know the power is there because I have romped on it at highway speeds droped a gear and snapped my head back. Very impressed with it then. Tech tells me it is normal. At a loss myself. I have not had much luck with the dealership if this is not normal. Hate to chip it and have a bad drivetrain failure and lose warranty. Should not be an issue.
I am open to suggestions if anyone has any.

You would think with the price of gas going thru the roof, that all these Detroit engineers and stylists would try and get a little more aerodynamic on the front ends of all these new GM, Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, etc. I guess they assume everybody that drives them wants to be a bulldozer driver in their next life! If this is GM's answer to the new pickup thats going to keep them out of their slide, they better have some more cutbacks quick! As for efficiency, their new DOD engines get 2 mile to the gallon better mileage for a $1200 price increase. Heck, you can get that kind of mileage improvement with a good exhaust system on a standard motor. Sleep tight , Detroit is awake tonight!
