v-drive cruisers with transmissions. My cruisers rigging sucks !! I need to redo it all and I need some ideas. I will build a rail kit but I'm curious as to what material to use, such as angle or channel etc. thanks rick

I have a similar tailshaft set up in my Vector. Haven't seen that set up elsewhere. The thickness of the mount is removed from the tailshaft case so the mount goes through the case. The berring gets lubed with trans fluid off a fitting comming off the cooler. Nice looking set up, do you know who set it up? Jim Anderson did mine.

I have this v-drive cruiser just kickin it in my drive way! Come on over and peek at my full rails, they are full length! The trans mounts on them, the v-drive, even the seats and ov course the engine. Later Rickster, oh, I'll put the discs in my car...D

Not quite as showy, but still very clean and strong.

I see all of those pics have a trans cooler.
My Daytona just has the line looped and no cooler.
Of course there's no torque converter so I took it that no cooler was needed.
I've probably put 30 hrs on this boat this year so far and have had no problems.
Has anyone put a trans temp gauge on there to see how hot it got ?

are you going to replace the v-drive and everything?
did lawrence leave the tranny in it?
the rigging isnt that horrible it just needs powder coating for the most part.
they were running that boat pretty hard and the stringers is where it started coming apart not the rigging.
when i was thinking of buying it the first thing i was going to do was have it restrung. if you are thinking about putting any money into that hull that is the most important place to put it.
it would suck to bandaid up the stringers and spend a bunch of time and money on re rigging it to only have the bandaid come apart on you a year or two down the road.
just my 2 cents.

There is one bad stringer. The other engine stringer will probably be saved. I do not like the fact that a rail kit was not used in this boat. Almost every single bolthole is rotten and the stringers have been crushed on all four of the engine mount locations. The only reason I am cosidering rerigging this boat is to prevent this from happening again!!! I am not looking for BLING!!

Riverkid, I don't know who the supplier was, the guy at the upholstery shop gave them to me some years ago when I was having the seats redone. They were longer and I cut them off. I have seen them in some marine supply catalogs, but I don't remember which one.
