I know that the water speedos are not accureate and the best bet is read off a GPS.
I have a water speedo in my boat. I want to use it as a guide. I know its WAY of. Lots of the water speedos seem to be a few MPH off. Mine is 20 or so.
Can they be adjusted? If so how?

Not to jack your thread but did you know we are neighbors within walking distance?

It's reading 20 mph slow? I had a similar problem
Make sure the pickup is clean.
Check the line for any bends or kinks.
Hope that works!

I think gps is really, brutally inaccurate,, a par with boat pick up units.

GPS can lag behind a bit on real time, but the speed is VERY accurate - and accurate at all speeds. Pickup units are typically accurate in a range.
GPS is terrible to use for skiing because of the lag.

It is a jet so it's probably reading at least 20 mph fast. :D :D :D

And, when you are figuring this whole error thingie out remember that GPS will measure velocity relative to stationary land while the water pickup measures velocity relative to the water flow. So, if you are going with the current, it will read slower; going against the current, faster.....

I'm glad this thread was about the boat Speedo's, not the ones I saw all the Euro wearing while I was in the Carribean last year!!!
