Thanks guys for all your help. It was actually a few different things. 1. Being the starter 2. being the starter relay 3. being a ballast resistor. So we rewired the whole boat pretty much today and hooked up The MSD box etc... The damn thing wont turn over and start! I know the fuel pump is working etc.. I think there is a carb issue now. I checked the mallory dist. Its one of those distr where you cant adjust the points. Anyways anyone got any Ideas

You have to set you dwell/point gap first. The best way is with a dwell meter around 32-36 degrees of dwell is good on a v-8. If it's single points just set it for that. If it's dual points, you can set it the way they were meant to be done which is set each for about 20 degrees (individually) or you can set them the aircraft way with is set them both for full dwell and disconnect one set. Then if one goes bad you just hook up the other one. After dwell is set then re-check the ignition timing.
