I know you locked the "no spam" thread for a reason.
But ***boat needs to seperate the spam thread. Anything related to v-drives is gone from the front page in a matter of hours.

I agree. There needs to be some sort of control over what is allowed in the spam section of a BOATING forum. Cars, houses, washers and driers, etc. really have no place there. Also, if we could require a price along with the posts it would make it easier, IMO. I would like to see the notices about items already on e bay disappear as well. If you want to pass a good deal on to fellow HB forum members use the spam section. That statement hardly applies if you've put your stuff on ebay before you let HB members even know you're selling it. I think the section should be restricted to boat related items, and maybe tow rigs. A single day's posts can take 3 or 4 pages, and of that, only about a page is actually boat related. ............Just my .02......MP
Rant retraction: Sorry, I just get frustrated by the overall cost of our sport. If we, as boaters, as racers, as packrats can pass on a deal to a fellow boater/racer/packrat then we have a chance to keep costs down as we pursue or goals. I always try to pass along items at a greatly reduced price to help others. I realize there are very costly items in this catagory of "used" parts and pieces, but what kind of a deal is it if has to be on ebay to sell it? Retraction over.........MP

I agree also. Also add trailers and motor homes but that's as far as I would go with the term RV....... v-drive

Hey Morg, you're a little late on this one. The "King of Boat Spam", MR. "I'll never finish any project I buy", "I have 611 posts and 610 are spam" Mouzer, has already made this complaint. :) Click here (http://www2.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123509)
If the spammers would just throw in a useful "key word", in this case "v-drive" for anything v-drive related, then the search function could actually be helpful.

I agree also. Also add trailers and motor homes
Excluding BOAT trailers............AND put a price on any item listed........MP
PS I think you meant to delete camp trailers and motorhomes, right? Unless it is a package deal that comes with a boat, or a race rig.......or a ? or a ? .. I can see this is going to be a tough crowd, a very difficult and fine drawn line. I quit going through the recycler because they grouped so many catagories together, primarily 4Njunk along with the domestic performance parts. Then again, HB HAD rules about classifieds and has relaxed those rules and allowed the spam section, FREE. Maybe we need to police ourselves awhole lot closer......MP

Trailers was a bad choice of words. I meant add mobile homes and motor homes. I for one am always looking for a good deal on one I could keep at a place that I travel to often

How about a Spam sub-category within the V-Drive category itself???????? :argue: :argue:

Countless suggestions have been made to separate the spam in the site suggestion forum. Obviously ***boat isn't interested in doing it. You guys are beating a dead horse at this point.
I'd just feel fortunate to be able to post any damn thing you want to sell for free at this point and let it be. Most boating websites you either pay or it's not allowed. As I said here I guess you can't please everyone. (http://www.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123509)

You're right Mike, just let it be or we'll wind up with nothing for free......Maybe if the sellers would be more discriptive in the heading it would be eaiser to scan through...........MP

I definately agree...you cannot find anything V-Drive specific. We all know it is a smaller world with the V-Drives.
Maybe a spam thread sticky?

Maybe if someone posts a v-drive boat for sale in the v-drive section the moderator could by mistake of course over look it.

If that were to happen the moderator wouldn't be doing the job now would he? I don't think the moderator needs to be writing his own rules or ignoring ***boat's rules on spam. If any slide through it's because I don't see them. The segragating of spam was presented long ago and ***boat has elected to leave it as is. So that is the basis we operate on until ***boat chooses to change it.

I gotta bent prop shaft, worn out strut bushings (I have both front and rear bushing as a matched set), a broken bow light and a set of dead valve springs for sale. You pick up and I'll toss in a raggedy azz old BBQ (needs a new burner and just about everything else) for free. :skull: :argue: :skull:

I'll trade you for a RR pump that SUCKS (actually maybe it doesn't suck), an old cast BBC crank of dubious quality, a two bolt block that is possibly cracked and a couple of old cams laying around in the garage. :220v:

Yeah, but did it have a matching partially stripped nut? See you only get 1/2 the shopping experience from e bay........And I'll bet the washers were lost too.......MP

I don't mind the spam section....it is free. Some people just have get better at titling their spam. As far as the other non-boat related items...I like it. I have bought a couple non-boat items. My buddy (a lurker) bought a golf cart. I have also bought several boat related items and sold a couple things.
The fact it bumps off of page one really only bothers the person who listed it. List your stuff of eBay or trader online and see if you can stay at the top (and you pay for it here), especially with just a simple bumb of your thread. I like checking out the pages of spam and looking for something specific.
I say leave it alone.
