tinted window ticket

Anyone know what one of these is gonna cost me? I got it in Hawthorne and need to appear in Inglewood. They sent me a confusing letter that stated $10 to $300. Violation is CVC40611A.

I Did Get One About 4 Months Ago In San Deigo It Was A Fix It Have It Taken Off And Sign By A Johnny Law Send In 10 Bucks And Be Done With. Then Go To Your Tint Shop For Another Round. Good Luck

If I do rember right it is a fix-it ticket that is $10 and if not taken care of then it is $300. I got one like that but it was for no plates and I did not take care of it and it cost me $450

That is what I figured but I wasn't sure? I already got it signed off so I guess I just need to mail it in.

I had one a few months ago and opted to pay the fine. Was about $100 or so. Sure beats taking it off and getting them redone.

That is what we did. Not so fun when you get your second ticket. UGH :yuk: But I was able to get it written off.

I figure since have had the windows tinted for about 4 years that the fine was worth it. Not sure what will do if get another one although could have had my LASD buddy sign it off but didnt want to put him on the spot.

40611 CVC is just a $10 fee paid to the state for certain fix-it tickets. Another way for the state to suck money out of you. You probably got a ticket for something like 26708.5 VC which is putting transparent shitt on your windshield or front side windows which "alters the color or reduces the light transmittance of the windshield". A chicken shitt ticket which any cop worth a crap would reserve as probable cause to cite a gang member or other lower form of life who happened to find four tires, a motor, and a key. I can't believe a south L.A. cop gave you a ticket for that unelss it was CHP.

I got one 17 years ago driving my g.f.'s car from Phx to Ca, just ignored it, about five years later got a phone calling asking me to pay it, said I was too busy, haven't heard about it since. The tint was legal in AZ, where the car was licensed.

26708.5 VC is for installing or affixing the tint, like you said. Would apply to the window tint guy who put it on. 26708(a)(1) VC is the section that is cited to a person driving a vehicle with tint.

I got the ticket in Hawthorne but I live in Corona. I stopped a local motor PO here in Corona and he signed if off. I was only concerned about the fine. I went online and it looks like all I have to cough up is 10 bucks. I wrote a check and put it in the mail box this morning before work. I'm sure if I sent in the wrong amount they'll let me know.
