vasectomy.. I don't have to worry if she "forgot" to take her pill... if she shows up pregnant I guess she'll be out of the house by 2pm! there's my best $1,000. A distant second is gutter helmet, I've got 6 loose bark hickory trees and don't own a ladder. My Dad fell off the house in 197x and broke his back.. lucky guy had to wear a brace not a wheel chair! I keep waiting on the life insurance for the Exwife to pay off... one of these days, alice... to the moon! and the boat lift at the marina... I can run the boat in 20' deep water with out her moving. Its an excellent analytical device, don't have to back down the ramp, own a truck, worry about flat trailer tires,etc.... and the lift always works even when the boat doesn't!
Ya'll have a great day!

$1400 for a pair of klipsch lascala speakers. there's nothing like having high quality home speakers for listening to music (truly a good investment).

This in 1994, still with the original paint and 47,000 original miles for almost nothing compared to what it's worth today.

$199 for Merrell hiking boots when I was in the teams. Back before they gave us good gear, it was wear desert jungle boots or regular jungle boots. Neither were very good at protecting your ankles. I would have written that check every single time I came out of the field in those boots...
$1200 G&L G500 electric guitar. I get bored easily, and as such I don't keep my stuff for very long. I just make sure I can get into it right, sell it for a profit-ish and enjoy it while I have it. This guitar is an exception. It was purchased in 1990 and is to this day my longest-term possession. I have tried to replace it probably 15 times thinking there is a newer, cooler guitar out there and I have bought everything from Gibson SG's to Paul Reed Smiths, BC Rich's, Gibson Les Pauls etc... and nothing matches the tone, clarity and feel of that G&L. I would pay way more than that today to keep the guitar. I did not leave it stock though... ;)
$60 Snap-On 3/8 drive rachet. When you use your tools for a living, little things like the rubber handle, tight adjustment per click and solid action of that driver really make the whole experience a lot better.

1) House was definetly good. Paid $205000. Both neighbors are selling. 1 for $750000, the other for $890000. Love that.
2) Boat......especially the investment in the stereo. Lots of family fun.
3) $3 Thomas bouyant lure. Have caught "The big one" many times to win the group fishing pool (Usually about $70 a trip in winnings).

I did that at 42... got bored... went back to work and am now more stressed out than ever. Rather have stress than boredom, although either one will lead you to an early grave.
