!st Annual"Eddie's Speedboat Regatta"at Apache Lake

On Aug 4th thru the 6th Eddie of Eddie's Inboard Marine in Tucson held his 1st annual "Speedboat Regatta" at Apache lake.About 30+ jets and v-drives showed up for a great weekend.The weather was perfect and alot of great people were there.Here's a few pics.

Unfortunatly I didn't take my camera to the main meeting place at Party Cove about 8 mi down the lake.But there were some really nice boats that I didn't get to photograph.

We left Saturday AM, wanted to stick around but we were both done after 3 days of to much fun. I'll bet the trip to Party Cove was a blast. Next time. :)

Yeah it was pretty cool.Some of our friends left before us but 7 of us ran side by side the whole way to Party cove some 9 mi down the lake.People were saying that they hadn't seen that many v-drives and jets at one time there since the mid 80's.

Sounded like some confrontation between the have funners and the wana sleepers. Possible weapons and fock u's. And then came the "Heat" but everyone was passed out by the time the "Heat" made it :rollside:

Nice. My favorite place in the whole world, Burnt Corral. Only down the beach a ways...and before the USFS screwed it up. I'll have my Hondo flat out there the week through Labor Day.

We have a group of v-drive and Jet boaters that hang out at Pleasant near the back ramp " Castle Creek" just about every Friday afternoon, we stay till after dark eat and drink. Good time!

Wow! I ski and play at Pleasant all the time. I will try to make it out there one of these weeks. I would try to make it out today, but have to get ready for a race.

here are some more pics from the good times at Apache. The road is a little tough but the scenery at the lake is unbeatable and plenty of room to stretch your legs when you get the itch. The LEO incident was caused by a crazy guy in another camp, no troubles for the Eddies bash people from LEO all weekend. Thsi will be an annual event god willing and will likely be extended a little next year so we will have some time on weekdays with less boat traffic. I will keep you informed on dates and plans. The maroon Nordic is the latest project and Eddie got it dialed in nicely Sat. AM. it is really to fun for words, it pulls so hard in a big heavy boat it is really hard to believe. Ther will be a bunch of us back up there the weekend after labor day if anyone is interested. I will post some pics of the Nordic running when they get back from the lab.
