This is Sean Gooch's 21' Mandella just before clear coat and the engine install. It has a 468 and a 3 speed tranny. The boat came from Jim Wilkes who did an article on it for Hot Boat...my understanding is that there are only 8 of these out there! Since it has so much room, we use it to haul beer and the larger gals.

Large gals in Montana?You guys are going to Banks,right?We will just have a few cold ones and talk v-drives.Life is good.

Sounds good to me! We are planning a v-drive get-together for Memorial day weekend at Canyon Ferry. We can tune boats and pick on jets! Drop me a line if you guys can make it!

That's only the second 21' with a marathon deck I've seen. A friend of mine is bringing his to the Needles bash. All other 21' look like this. Well probably not this nice.

How long have you guys had your Mandellas? This my 3rd. Previous were a '64 short deck with 390FE and a '72 marathon deck with 454BBC.

hotrodder how did you get your headers white? High temp paint?

Its called aluminizing. The headers are sand blasted and then sprayed with molten aluminium. The surface is rough not smooth like Jet-Hot, but they dissipate heat quickly and I like the old school look of them.

Tell me more about Canyon Ferry? Where is it? Is it a lake or river? What is the camping? Might drag the old yellow Mandella over that way.

I believe the Canyon Ferry is a Res.I haven't made over there myself. Feel free to make a pit stop in Euerka,we have plenty of room.All v-drivers welcome.# 2 Rat out.

Canyon Ferry lake is a resevoir approximately 28 miles in length and 2-4 miles in width. It is a dam controlled section of the upper Missouri approximately 20 miles from Helena, with 2 marinas on the NW end and numerous camping areas. Here is a link to the BOR's site for the lake. We ski, sail, kiteboard and terrorize jet boats most weekends and some week nights.We are planning a little hot boat get-together for memorial day if anyone wants to come play!

I thought you were going south for Sept.. We bought Al's 21 foot, so now which one do we take on a trip? Its having a heat problem, found three fluts off the impeller, they were in the devider block so I thought it would be all good with new impeller right? WRONG It still heats, I talked to Boyd this morning for about a hour. Had to get cought up with all the latest.
