Need to get some internet for the home...need some advice. I have a brand new Dell with a built in wireless card. I do not have a home phone only a cell phone. I am kinda leaning towards verizon wireless internet per I recieve 20% off sevice through my work. I am not set on wireless but I do not want anything that is going to require me to get a home phone.....help!!!

Do you have cable? Cable internet is pretty good...at least its good for me. Depending on where you are Verizon Wireless may or may not work. Verizon Wireless is slow compared to Cable or DSL but I guess the speed depends on what you want to do with the Internet.

Verizon wireless is $$$, if your gonna be mobile it's sweet, otherwise its overpriced... Check to see what wired options are avaliabe unless your gonna take advantage of being wireless (outside of home, home wireless is damn near free once you get service from someone). check www.dslreports.com to see what you can get, or check the cable and phone company to see your options. Let me know if you have questions about the services - I know a thing or two about networking and this stuff (it's my job to).

Chances are one of your neighbors is running a wireless network without security. That will get ya going until you get your own.

You're going to require a Type 3 Aircard or USB Aircard for service on a Dell computer. I can assist you getting a USB Aircard through Franklin Wireless, but you're better off waiting for a Novetel Type 3 Aircard that's compatible w/your Dell that will be available in the next couple of months. I'm a Sprint dealer. You can see all my products at www.sts-usa.net

Fix the boat first, then get on the water and you won't have to worry about the internet :crossx:
