I'm heading to Pleasant tomorrow. What's the story, is it going to rain, the news says yes and no.
Has it been raining out there every afternoon this week?

It's monsoon baby, count on a daily 30% chance.
I'd like to head up there Sunday, temps are supposed to be pretty good. :rollside:

I'm OK with the rain while at the lake. It is the wet roads that kick stuff up all over the boat that I am a little b*tch about.

If you have not figured it out, during the Phoenix Monsoon season (July15th-September 15th), if the monsoon flow is active over Phoenix (check satellite images), It is best to be on the road home by 3pm to avoid the storms.
XM has a weather overlay that can be added to your garmin GPS, if you want real time weather. Also you can tune in the weather on your VHF radio to get up to date info.
Driving in the rain (pulling a boat) is like taking a bucket of dirt, adding water, and dumping it on your boat interior. You'll never get it completely clean again

OK, I have lived in Phoenix for over 20 years. I understand what monsoon means, however, when 1/3 of town gets rain the other 2/3 does not. It has not rained on my side of town (Mesa) in any of the recent storms, unless it was at 3 AM when I was asleep (nothing before midnight for sure).
I was wondering if it has rained out there every day the past week, where here it has not at all.

I live pretty close to the lake and it has not rained at my house all summer :( . The storms have been following a pattern that starts in Carefree area, tracks north of Carefree highway, over Pleasant and into Wickenberg. They seem to fall apart right when they drop out of the foothills. A few have come in from the south but none have made it this far. Most of those seem to go thru Buckeye and north to Wickenberg. So, unless there is a change in the pattern, you should be OK. Have fun.

It hasn't rained at all here lately, usually comes from the North, circles round to the West then Crosses I-17 down around Glendale Ave. That's been the route for the last few days. I always pay attention to the lake weather, it's straight West of me.....

Well, I detailed the entire boat, and it just figures to be my luck... pouring.
I have not had the boat out of the garage in 39 days, and the 24 hours it is out, well it's raining.
Tornado fountain hills!!!! That's a little too close for comfort! :skull:

Its funny. This year we are in some kind of dead zone for storms in my area. All this shit has missed us so far. Tonight: a ton of thunder and lightening all around me, some stray rain drops, lots of wind, but the ground is dry.

Damn, I was just getting ready to head your way and park the boat over there.
I'm really pissed at myself. I could have taken the boat over the the wharehouse and put it in there for the night, but I was being lazy and didn't want to wake up early to pull it out before opening up.

Once a storm reaches a certain size the computer assigns it a code and then tracks it. The arrows are the predicted path of the storm. If you scroll down you will see a list of the storms along with the details of the storm cell. Its pretty cool. They are getting pretty high tech.

Bummer. What do you think of Nashville? I was thinking of visiting the area to look for a lakefront lot for retirement. After this humidity this year here I am not sure I could handle it there. May just stay here, its pretty hard to beat the weather.

Never been there actually. There are some great places to boat there tough. Actually there are some big boats on the nooga, like 55' Sea Rays.
Seems nice, but I like the West much better than most of the country I have been to.

For the second night in a row, it flat out poured last night in Buckeye. Wind, thunder and lightning ...basically got slammed. , looks pretty nice this am at 0630.
Magic 34, I know what you mean about one side of the valley getting slammed while another does not. Last year all we got was wind and dust...if anything. This year we have seen several inches of rain out of just about every storm. Must be a shift in the monsoon flow vs. last year.

Magic34, sorry you got rained on Friday Night...it freaking poured up here. Anyway, Saturday was beautiful and I was glad to see you made it out...when you rolled into Humbug, I told my wife....."that's what I want next".....
She isn't feelin' the whole Cat scene, keeps looking at Vee's and Cruisers, I need to show her that the Cabin in the 34' Scepter is decent enough to use for weekend trips to the lake. I really want to show her the new Sonic 38' Cat...the cabin on that thing is HUGE!!!
