Mine is a '75 19' Mini-Daycruiser. Pretty much stock 455 w/Berkeley 12JC pump, AA American Turbine impeller.

It has not been entered in any races, but it is a GREAT family boat!

Everything I've seen is it takes a ton of work to go from a Panther to a Berk and unless you wanna go really fast, why bother?
Panther should be just fine if you don't wanna go faster than the low 70s. Some feel you cant put a ton of horsepower on a Panther as well due to the size of the shaft.
There's quite a bit of info on Panthers in the old laidback forums and on the new site which is at http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/mb/cas
Good luck with it

Thanks! Mine came with the Berk pump. FWIW here is an old thread about Panther pumps, including a couple of vintage '70s promo videos that are a crack up.
