Need Vicoden? Now you tell me. You shoulda asked yesterday when I was in your pit with a pocket full of 'em.
Great weekend of racing all the way around. Didn't like seeing drivers picked out of the water and taken off in an ambulance, but that stuff happens.
Great K, SS, PS, Cracker (as usual) racing, but I got to tell you THE best racing all weekend was the GN's. On Sat. the 305 boat was making the hair on the back of my neck stand on end when she'd come out of turn two and was on the gas. Sounded, and ran fantastic.
Excellent GN race to end the day yesterday too Rankins boat was smokin and that was a nice win. Water was really churned up and it was fun to watch how the drivers chose their lanes and got around the unbelieveably slow traffic...that wierd cab forward GN boat that Kent was driving ran like it was draggin sack of rocks behind it, Paul lapped him on the first lap of the final race!
Congrats to all racers and thanks for a fun weekend of racing. :)
Ben, yesterday I couldn't believe how many 'Plan B' shirts I saw in the crowd. You guys built up quite a cheering section up and down the beach.

To all the teams, what a great show...SS,PS Cracker & IMO the best race on Sat & Sun was the GN Race.... Ben what a great races Sat... Bad start but the old man has truly haulin,,,,,Sun his start was epic, by turn two I thought his 10 boat lead was insurmountable. That's what I get for thinkin, another great race, everybody along the beach was on their feet.
From the threads I have read & hopefully belive that all the drivers who got pitched are OK. I wish the loudspeaker or officials could give the crowd an update jus to let everyone know the driver was OK & was taken by ambulance just as a precautionary measure.
Look forward to seeing you @ the Enduro again

Steve, ah, you shouda seen Sunday's GN final.......Mr Rankin and the GN9 chasing Paul and the GN305, gaining "just a bit" each lap until the 9 finally drove around him and took off........see ya!!.......Great performance by both. I already posted (different thread) about Chris Arnold's performance in SS on Sunday, but that was a show as well...........Ray

Great job Plan "B" team. I just think this boat is "Badd A$$". Little story about your driver. When I was around 12 years old and my dad was taking me to Long Beach one of the first drivers I got introduced to was Paul Grichar. My dad loved the "Zip & Zap" team owned by Bob Clune for whom Paul drove for. Of course they we my favorites because they ran Fords, not to mention they pretty much dominated. Anyway Paul would always remember me and would always take the time to say hi. To this day he hasn't changed with me. He is a great ambassador for this sport and a great competitor and that showed all weekend. Congrats on the weekend, you guys deserved it.

Thank you for all the kind words... I appreciate the compliments! We have worked very hard in a short amount of time to achieve our position in the GN world. We could not have done it with out Grich at the helm. For those of you who do not know him, he is 69 yrs old & has only partial use of his
right arm due to a SS accident 7 or so yrs ago. He pretty much thought his boating career was over? I found this boat rotting in a plumbing yard under a half ass cover not more than 2 yrs ago. Before I purchased the boat I asked Paul if he would like to take a swing at racing again. He looked at me kinda funny & said ok sure... I bought the boat & after a futile attempt at running long beach tore the entire boat down & rerigged it. The end result is what you see! The oldest boat with the oldest driver. We have taken 2nd place at every event this year... Not bad... Our last race is bakersfield then off to the enduro again! :)

Both days at the race, V-drive videos family was parked right next to me and on sunday Jerry brought me a 5 inch thick stack of old boat mags to look at. I pissed away the entire morning trying to soak in all the great articles and ads. Only got about half way through them 'cause the boats hit the water at 10:30, but I was in heaven. Thanks Jerry.
While I was reading the program for the 1967 Salton Sea 500 Marathon, there was Grich's name right there in the middle of things on the drivers page. That's almost 40 fockin years of boat racing! :)
