Anyone have info on Lake Lopez? I understand there is a water park there.
Is the water warm? Good ski lake?

Good family camping with lot's of wildlife. There is a small waterpark, I think it has 2 waterslides and some other stuff for the kids. The water temperature is ok, you can usaully ski without a wetsuit. As Marty722 said, the skiing is only good in the mornings and evenings. Lake Lopez is a winsurfer's paradise in the afternoon. The far end of the lake does not allow PWC's and has a ski dock. I am pretty sure there is a 45 mph speed limit and no boats on the water after dark. My grandparents use to live on cherry street right next to the freeway across from the fields. I have been going there since I was a little kid when the only thing there was the log cabin and the swinging bridge.... Cool place to live.....

We call it Blowpez, wind comes up mid to late morning. Pismo is very close just a few miles. It's a small lake. If you go, watch for the Turkeys, the bird kind not human kind. Speaking of the human kind, the sail boarders are in the Whittenburg arm it is 5mph. Naci is aproxamently an hour north over Cuesta Grade.

Marty722,
I know the area your Grandparents used to live. We call that area "The Village." The opposite side of Cherry is still a field, but I'm sure a developer has their eye on it. I agree, it is a great place to live but I am biased.
