Sneezing Question...

Haha...ok this may seem kinda wierd maybe even stupid, but I remember someone once saying that when you sneeze your body shuts of as if you died for a split second...I called BS, and they said why do you think you cant sneeze with your eyes open....That got me thinkin....what the hell....??? Anyone have the answer to this puzzling question.... :rollside:

I can sneeze and keep my eyes open. trust me, you have to sneeze on approach, you'll keep you eyes open. :cool:

Most of the other rumors about sneezing are not true. Your heart does not stop when you sneeze, and with great effort you could probably keep your eyes open during a sneeze. While the tradition of saying "Bless you" or "Gesundheit" (meaning "health" in German), or some variation on this theme, apparently originated from superstitions that sneezing was a sign of approaching danger or even death, most people who sneeze have an excellent prognosis!

I have heard that your heart stops when you sneeze.
Don't know if its true but if I sneeze in front of my husband and he doesn't say God Bless you, I tell him, "I almost died" and he knows what I mean and says bless you......LOL

Actually the rumor I've heard is that most heart attacks are "triggered" by sneezing. Not to say there was not a pre-exsiting condition before the sneeze.
