I need to change the log seals. I can't get the flange off the back of the transmission or the flange off the prop shaft. The stuff is almost brand new. I don't thinks its corroded. I had the flange off the transmission once and had a hell of a time. This is a Turbo-400 in my Schiada....HELP!!!!!!!!

Did you put anti-sieze on the threads before you put together??

If its a regular coupler there is "should be" a threaded hole in the center that when you thread a bolt in it drives the coupler open. IF I understand your question right.

I screwed up my ??????? I need to remove the flange from the end of the prop shaft. So I can move the shaft back far enough to change the log seals....
It not only won't come off the flange on the Casale, but the prop shaft won't come out of the flange.
Forget the transmission part.

I had that same problem and the only method that worked was using a press. I pulled the shaft from inside the boat and the machine shop had to lay their press on it's side!

Make a puller with a piece of bar and some bolts.

Might try a Harmonic balancer puller...if it is the flange that I am thinking about.
