saturday i got my first noise ticket  i guess it was just a matter of time befor the boat cops got me. legal is 86db in wisconsin and i was at 99db, ben looking at all types of mufflers and ran across the gibson stainless turn downs? i guess sense the pipe will be under water 6" or so at idle it should do the trick then when on plain there just out of the water for performance. they are $450 honke- cut had them in stock, if i retest the ticket will be thrown out ( $160 bucks) if i get in the mid 80'sdb. has anyone used these pipes and how much quiter are they?
p.s. i'm sure they look goofy hanging off the transom exhaust tips

Cheeper route is a set of basset inserts with a super trap you could also get a 4 inch Stainless turn down and use the insert and blow water thru the turn out.
