The wife woke me up at 3 am and said "Let's take the boat to Catalina."
She works 12 hour graveyard shifts, and on her nites off,, this is what I'm subject too. But boating is always good.
So I hook the boat up, we gas it up in route to the launch Ramp,, launch in Sunset Harbor, 210 degrees to Avalon in the barely rising sunlite.
Kick the boat in the Ass at the Coast Guard Buoy.
Get to Avalon, pay the LEOS & the assignment, get it tied to a mooring (always whisky 17), get checked in to the Hotel,, and over to Luau Larries for brunch.
We sit by the window, just off the beach and the walkway that everyone visiting the island has to use.

This time of year, Catalina has 7 Christain summer camps in full operation.
The camps rarely give the young married couples that are working as counslers a break to go into town.
These couples are spent working with the kids all summer long,, they need a break.
They usually get the one break, one day off near the end of summer.
Alice and I sit by Luau Larries window, and you can spot these couples walking along the beach, right by us within a few feet.
They are so happy to finally get free,, they seem to be wandering aimlessly, but relieved.
You know it's the camp couples strolling the beachfront walk because the wife is a southern beauty pagent looking babe. Just an excellent looking knockout. Awsum, perfect.
Flat tummy down to her coin slot. Tight shorts w/ Bikini bottoms for panties.
A thin cloth bra under a babydoll shirt. Perky boobs at attention. Smart, interesting and full of wit girl.
They have no bags, perhaps a sleeping baby in a stroller.
Mom ain't been gutted by this childbirth.
They always are the nicest, most genuine good looking people you will ever meet. Savvy, sharp and fun to hang with.
As they pass by the window at Luau Larries where the wife and I are sitting, I always say: "Will you guys come in for a quick celebration drink?".

They always accept. No hesitation, they are right there with ya.
The Husband just pounds the first beer I buy him; I mean hammers it in seconds, then quickly puts down another.
The wife takes a Yeager shot with a vodka back kinda drink.
S#itfaced in 3 minutes.
Shows these kids have been to college.
A huge order of chili frys and 3X order of fried clams too after months of lousy really bad canned and poorly prepaired camp food.

It ain't all bad leading people astray.
Everyone has a story like this,, what's yours?:

...that reminded me of one of those long, rambling, get to the point (if there is one) stories my ol grandpa used to tell...it was sweet but not worth the time. :rollside:

At least this one ended....my Grandpa you used to just talk and talk and talk, until you finally had to just walk away.
