I am running the Wickens with dry headers and need to ask about water temp. The motor is a 468 BBC with AFR 315 heads. The water pump is a new magna flow. Picks up the water through a plate pickup. Right now it exits the boat through two 1/2 in. stainless tubes. Obviously I have no water temp. I wondered if there was a standard orifice size to exit the water through? To build temp do you restrict the water out??? With the injection it has made it tough to tune with no temp. I think the aluminum heads need temp to run correctly??? Any help would be appreciated...RCL

Do not restrict water out, you can milk the oil that way . TOO much pressure ..
I have a magna flow, and only get about 100 degree.
I was told to restrict it coming into the pump. Have not tried that yet .

Replied in Gearheads.

The Magnaflow runs an abundant of pressure throught the motor , you can slow it down by cutting ever other vein off the impellar, you will still have the volume but the pressure will decrease and try cutting back to one outlet to slow the exit of the water.
My 2 cents worth
