Well, Jackpunx and I decided to head out to Perris Valley Skydiving Center this past weekend for a day of adrenaline rushes. We were both craving it because it has been over 2 months since we jumped last. We made 4 jumps on Sat. with the last jump being filmed. Here are the pictures from that jump.
Mark (Jackpunx) on the way up

Red light on. Open the door and get ready for the green light. Once green light goes, JUMP!

Me hanging on the outside of the plane ready to go. This is the real fun part. Hanging out right in the wash of the propeller and the plane traveling at approx. 90mph.

The exit. Mark diving out to catch me.

Me flying

Linking up in the air. It is a lot harder to do in t-shirt & shorts than in a jump suit.

Me just chillin

Mark going into a delta track. You get up some serious speed and cover a lot of ground like this.

Me starting to do a back flip. One of the fun things to do while up there.

When we pulled the data from this jump, we hit a max speed of 141mph and had an average speed of 135mph. You can get up over 200mph if you go head down and hold it. If someone wants to go out, let me know. I want excuses to go jump. Be prepared though to get hooked. Once you do it, you wonÂ’t want to stop! Might be heading back out next weekend for some more fun.

Boy, that plane looks a lot nicer than the old oil leaking rotary motor one I jumped from in the late 70's at Perris!

Crazy suckers. Have a buddy that is addicted to skydiving. He says there no other rush like it. I always ask him "why you jumping out of a perfectly good airplane."
His comment is always the same "once you see the plane, you will understand it isnt perfect"

I don't think I could jump out of a perfectly good airplane. I will take your word for it that it was fun. :)

The indoor skydiving is a lot of fun. Definitely gives you a sense of what flight is like and how to controll your body. You will find out real quick that any slight movement, can send you spinning. :)
I need to get back in the wind tunnel. I am having a couple of issues that I can not seem to get figured out in the air. With the wind tunnel, you can be in there trying stuff for 15 minutes no problem. That would be about the same amount of flight time as 15 individual skydives. :) Kind of expensive, but well worth the $. :)

I've always wanted to try that but I'm not sure i'd have the balls when it came time to pile out the door. A friend of mine tried it and on his first solo he wound up in an uncontrollable spin. Said his brain totally locked up and he went into panic mode. Claims he'd be 6 feet under and flat as a pancake had the instructor not been there to help him. He's never been since. Cool pics though.

I was expecting bikini shots from the river. Oh, well.
Looks good though. I've done 1 solo jump in San Diego. It was a blast, but the wife said no more because my insurance is voided if I get flattened while skydiving.

After seeing those pics it reminds me to a large degree the thing I hated most about being a SEAL. Got seriously injured twice, never did like skydiving, nor did I ever get the "rush" from it.
Of course, we jumped at night, with 100+ pounds of gear on over trees. That might have had something to do with it.

I went riding one day at Elsinore track, ened up hurting my wrist and sitting on the sidelines. I got bored so went next door and did my first jump. It was the most exhilerating rush I have ever felt. I'd love to go back again and do it again!!!!!

whats a helmet going to do if things go wrong..lol..
the only reason we wear one is to keep our ears from flying off when we dump the chute..
or when your jumping with other people.. to protect incase of a collision..
we do usually wear them.. but it was hot out..
Bling and charley.. You guys come up with us.. we'll hold hands with you too..LOL
Charley.. You dont even need a chute.. You can just hop in my pocket and take a free ride..LMAO
