Hey Peeps, I need info on Casino/Hotels that are boat friendly (60'+ truck/trailer) where I do not need to worry about it. Off the strip would most likely be the choice. Weekend after Labor Day for a wedding shoot on the strip. Does not need to be anything fancy just a place to crash after a long day/night of photographs. Much appreciated

Call ahead to the hotel security and they'll help out.
We've had good experiences with the California Club, and even with all the bums and winos about, never a problem.
The Golden gate is a cool little hotel that has accomodated us too.
Chix love the Golden Gate (next to the Golden Nugget)
The valet will usually help you out, and we tip them a few xtra bux for the effort.
Always ask when ya book, and call ahead and you're usually fine.

Sunset Station in Henderson is close to the strip and also the lake. Used to be a great party place for the 30-40 year old crowd. See what concerts they have going on also. Lots of parking available and I never had a problem there before.

I would be careful here. There have been a few U Hauls loaded with peeps stuff stolen from their lot in the last two weeks.

That's not good :(. Haven't stayed there in a couple of years but in the past it seemed safe. I would recommend taking a boat cover and putting it on wherever you stay. I always tried to get a room overlooking where my boat was parked also.

I'll second the Sunset Station. Pleanty of room for our truck and boat trailer. They also have security on bikes that patrol their parking lots.

What about Green Valley Ranch Resort? Anybody know how that is safety wise these days?

The place inside is top-notch plus my room is free. I have had my boat there before and you have to park outside by the resturant store front area. I wish they had better parking because it seems rather exposed to people just driving in.

Oh, great. Thats what I did not want to hear. I'm going to Mead later this week and I'm staying at the Sunset Station Sunday-Tuesday with the boat. :squiggle:

I would try to keep the boat near Valet if you can.
This may not be that big of a deal, I have just heard it on the news about the U Haul trucks getting ripped off. I have not heard about anything else being messed with.

The Rio has a HUGE parking lot on the backside (NE corner just north of the parking garage for Masquerade Village) and there were a few boats, RVs, and semis out there last time I was there (last week). It's off the strip, but still much closer than some of the other suggestions. I suppose it just depends where you want to be in relation to the lake/strip. Security always seems to be pretty tight around there too.

Rio is nice, but I wouldn't park a boat in that neighborhood

I just called the GVR and they have two places to park boats. Both have security drive thru but moreso on the weekends. There is an overflow lot that is closer to the hotel and seems to be preferred by boaters but does not have cameras. Seems it is a lot easier to fill ice chests/get into your coolers, etc. It has less foot traffic going thru there. If you park outside the restaraunts you get more foot traffic, have a longer walk to your boat but the security drives thru more often and they have cameras.

Well, this is the third time I have stayed for free :) Last time the Black Crows had a company financed private concert outside of our room at the pool. We set in our room kicked back and watched the concert while we drank some good wines.

It's pretty well lit and security seems to be somewhere around just about everytime I've run through there. Much better at the Rio than at the Ghettosphere. Now that's a neighborhood!!! :D :D :D

With a rig that size I would'nt go anywhere near the strip. When I do a Mead / Vegas trip, I would usually stay at the Fiesta Henderson, has clean room, great parking, and great security.and is approx. ten minutes form the strip and maybe twenty to the lake.

When we made the reservations, my wife asked them about boat parking and how secure is their parking area. They told us they have plenty of room to park boats and to just let security know we have a boat parked out in the parking lot and they will keep an eye on it. I guess I'll see how secure it is next week. Hopefully I'll have no problems.
