Well since you are allowed to have a loaded fire arm while camping in a state park or any where else in the state.( unless the local codes say no.) I don't see why you can not have a gun it stored correctly.
I went to the state parks web site. No where on it did it say that fire arms were not allowed.

I was camping in a CA. state park and these clowns were doing target practice.
Right around family and kids. Well, they were reported to the ranger so he confiscate there weopons.
He stated that there were no firearms aloud in a CA. State park period.
Said they could have their arms back when their trip was over.

They were discharging them in a unsafe manor, they should have been taken away. I would call the state parks office in the morning. he could be right. Only way to find out is to call.

Really. City of Sac has never been mentioned in class the last 4 times I have renewed. And they tell you all places you can't carry.
According to the chart I have there are 600 permits issued in Sac as of 2003.

Unless things have changed, Sac County is the easiest county in the state to get a CCW. That's the way it used to be anyway.

San Bernardino County is very easy to get a CCW, It's been a tradition here that the Sheriff issues CCW's to upstanding people. It's not hard to do, just costs a bit and takes a while for the processing.

Only ppl to be issued CCW in sac county in the last 5 years have been retiring LE or work in the DAs office. Other wise you can forget about getting one. the sheriff here is a real ass, ( lets just say the whole deparment needs a major overhaul). I knew sevral ppl that spent 20+ years working in gun stores that were turned down many times. All of them carried at work. You just could not walk out side with it on. They wanted it for the time b4 the doors are open and walking out after hours. Could not get it. Its not like it use to be just go out side of the county and get one.

I know even CCW cannot carry in the Lake Mead Recreation area which includes Mead, the river, and Lake Mohave all the way to Davis Dam.
Here is a little more info;
#5 Question: Can I carry in a National Park?
Answer:
It is illegal to carry in any National Park even if you have a Permit/Licensethat is legal in the state the park is in. When in a National Park your firearms must beunloaded and stored in the trunk of your vehicle. If you do not have a trunk the firearmmust be in a locked box behind the seat in a Pickup or all the way in the back of an SUV.
#6 Question: Can I carry in National Forests?
Answer:
Some states have state laws against carrying in a National Forest. Floridaand Tennessee are two states that come to mind. You must be aware of the state law. There is no Federal Law restricting Concealed Carry in a National Forest. If the statedoes not restrict carry in a National Forest and you have a permit issued or honored bythe state the National Forest is in you can legally carry in that National Forest. Do beadvised that any building on the National Forest belongs to the Federal Government and your permit/license does not permit you to carry in those buildings.
#7 Question: Can I carry in a State Park?
Answer:
Some states restrict carry in their State Parks even with a Permit/Licensethat is issued or honored by that state. On Handgunlaw.us click on the tab in the leftcolumn labeled “Nationwide Off-Limits”. There is a state listing of all states and in theheader of your state listing it will say either “No State Park Carry” or “Yes State Park Carry”.

The problem with having a gun on your boat is there is often beer on the boat at the same time. I am a firm believer that if you have been drinking, you should not have guns near by. I would have a hard time not having a beer just because I am packing on my boat. If you got into a situation, even if you where below the legal limit, any chance you would have with LE is gone.

A few weeks ago in Thompson bay a person brandished a firearm and ended up being taken away in cuffs. I don't know what the circumstances behind the incident were, but I do know the person with the gun was the one arrested.

Rivercrazy: that quote about "lots of old timers carry those" was Mel Gibson
teasing Danny Glover at the first of the original "Lethal Weapon" movie. They
were just introducing themselves to each other. Funny scene.

I couldn't take it and called the S.O. today and asked them about conceal carry in Sac. His words to me is that I can carry anywhere in the state other than gov buildings, airports, schools, etc. He did tell me that I can actually carry in San Francisco cause state law holds precidence (sp) over city law. But he also stated its not worth the hassle of pushing the issue in that city.
Kilrtoy: Actually all I did was apply for a permit within my county and was issued one, unrestricted. I did this long before I was a volunteer fire chief. I do deal with the S.O. more now especially with all the OES, Homeland Security, Fema, etc. I just got done with a NIMS training, it sucked but still had to do it in order for our county to recieve funding.
Kern County is pretty loose with there permits.

I think this gun is a Bryco 380. Right? I have had one for 15 years and it is a POS. I would not trust my life on it feeding reliably. I am waiting for the local PD to have one of those trade your guns for cash deals so I can get rid of it. Haven't shot it in 13 years.

It's not a very good gun, not that I have a lot of experience in this area. It tends to lock up so it's not reliable. I bought it fairly cheap at a gun show.

I would think there are quite a few other things I would rather have in my hand or hands while boating, like a ice cold beer, goose and cranberry, the throttle control, the steering wheel, a good roast beef sandwich at around noon, and after looking at the hot girl thread certain parts of the female anatomy. Just my humble opinion though as they say there is a time and place.
