Dan, most seat brackets consist of two pieces of
1/4' X 6" aluminum angle that hooks to the stringers and a 1/4" piece of plate aluminum that sits on top (stringer to stringer) for the seats to bolt to..besure and use Large flat washers on top of the seats so the bolts don't pull through....

I was thinking of something like that. I was also thinking of a plywood box that would mount to the stringers. That way I could make a small storage place under the seats. They have a hole in the base.

I went to the local R V dealer and bought two Pedastels that are about 8 to 10 inches high, they come in various hights. They are made of steel and they swivel. They mount to the floor with 4-bolts, and are very solid. I carpeted them with the same carpet that's in the boat. They look good and are functional.

Hey Dan I have about 20' of 1/4 by 4" aluminam angle laying around in the garage if you need some. I used this type mounting on my old flat and runner bottom, makes a good mount

My hydro used the angled aluminum only on the inside of the stringers and a aluminum plate bolts to them that runs all the way across between the stringers. The plate ended up being about 15" wide and 30" long, but that's for my boat. Then I bolted the seats to the plate. Call me if you need anything.
