Since C-2 seems too be hip to the ways of the great music of yesteryear, I'll drop a few lines from one of my favorite bands. This is late stuff from past there prime but an OC orig. non the less.
" Clowns are neato, clowns are fun, clowns bring joy to everyone, cops and commies even fags, everybody loves a gag!"

Likes to chase it down with that Wild Turkey liquor;
Drives a fifty-seven GMC pickup truck;
He's got a gun rack; "Goat ropers need love, too" sticker
And it's up against the wall Redneck Mother,
Mother, who has raised her son so well.
He's thirty-four and drinking in a honky tonk.
Just kicking hippies asses and raising hell.

Sure does like his Falstaff beer,
Likes to chase it down with that Wild Turkey liquor;
Drives a fifty-seven GMC pickup truck;
He's got a gun rack; "Goat ropers need love, too" sticker
And it's up against the wall Redneck Mother,
Mother, who has raised her son so well.
He's thirty-four and drinking in a honky tonk.
Just kicking hippies asses and raising hell.
Well,
M is for the mudflaps you give me for my pickup truck
O is for the Oil I put on my hair
T is for T-bird
H is for Haggard
E is for eggs, and
R is for REDNECK.
Up against the wall Redneck Mother,

You guys should have seen the look on the band's faces when Dave requested that one. It was one of the last songs of the night and they let him sing. Man! Good times, right there.
This thread is old but I'm listening to "RoadHouse Country" and this song came on. I've only met HalletDave once, but I can't listen to this damn song anymore without thinking about him singing it! :D

dang a forgot about this one from CW
We was screamin' through the valley where the Nishnabotna flows
Through the mud 'n the crud 'n the cornfields where the mary-g-wanna grows
Crossed the railroad tracks at Persia, down the hills and up the dale
That CJ5 with four wheel drive an' smokey on my tail
Well he picked me up at exit 12 on the I-six-eighty ramp
I was doin' sixty seven per when I rumbled through his trap
He commenced to whirl his flashin' lights an' he made his siren wail
I slipped on down to four wheel drive with smokey on my tail
Now I got racin' stripes an' dual pipes
And smokey's got a Ford
Got a mill with a four pot carb ya know
But smokey's stroked and bored
Well the chase was on but I had the edge
With a rig that'll never fail
Got a CJ5 with four wheel drive an' smokey on my tail
Yeah he was...
Well I dropped on down to granny low, an' I nade a hard right turn
My big ol' fat Commando tries went slashin' through the corn
Well the tassles blew, an' the kernels flew, an' it looked like yellow hail
Just cookin' alive in four wheel drive with smokey on my tail
Well we went screamin' through the valley where the Nishnabotna flows
Through the mud 'n the crud 'n the cornfields where the mary-g-wanna grows
Crossed the railroad tracks at Persia, down the hills and up the dales
My CJ5 with four wheel drive an' smoky on my tail
Look out now, here he comes...
Oh we gonna get it on now...
Don't hit that fella with the banjo...
We gonna swim this here crick now smokey...
Yard wide an' a foot deep...Nishnabotna river they call it...
Might have to winch out...
Don't do a wheelie on that there gopher mound now smokey...
Can you dig it smokey?...
Got four on the floor an' four in the air on that one didn't we...
Goodness gracious...like to bust my shocks...
Well that JEEP of mine made smoky whine
His rig was made of lead
He was mired in fourteen feet of mud so he radioed ahead
I pulled up onto the blacktop, went crashin on through the rail
Sakes alive I had twenty five more smokies on my tail
Now I got racin' stripes an' dual pipes
And smokey had a Ford
Had a mill with a four pot carb ya know
But smokey's stroked and bored
Well the race was on but I had the edge
With a rig that'll never fail
Got a CJ5 with four wheel drive, settin' out back of the jail

Vandals.
Past there some what popular period of the late 80's for that one. I think it was the clown song or some crap like that.
Angie's cousin's husband was the drummer, bastards still pulling royalty checks from that stint with the OC punk band.
My favorite from them is "Pat Brown" not to0 be confused with Tom. :cool:
I grew up on the Vandals..
Pat Brown
He's a crazy guy
Yeah I'll tell you why
On a hunting trip
the trigger slipped
someone almost died
Circle Massage got a shotgun barrage
He won't pay 50 bucks for head
Music shop got a midnight shopping stop
"Hello Marshal Amps"
Stereo store got hit for even more
But Pat got caught
At the Cuckoo's Nest, he did his best
To waste some pigs
Patrick Edward Brown
Tried to run the cops down

I understand that listening to Johnny Rebel is now a punishable crime in the states.
My uncle has some original 45's he picked up in Loozi-ann.
Hardcore stuff. Funny, we were just talking about them a few days ago and pondered the question of playing them openly (he lives in Norco).
NOT!!!
My grandparents were Texan to the bone and racists. Different era for sure.
I don't prescribe to the same hate.

I do like Outlaw though...:)

Seriously, Marty Robbins and El Paso - the longest damn cowboy song ever written (and a great one):
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl.
Night-time would find me in Rosa's cantina;
Music would play and Felina would whirl.
Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,
Wicked and evil while casting a spell.
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden;
I was in love but in vain, I could tell.
One night a wild young cowboy came in,
Wild as the West Texas wind.
Dashing and daring,
A drink he was sharing
With wicked Felina,
The girl that I loved.
So in anger I
Challenged his right for the love of this maiden.
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.
Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;
I had but one chance and that was to run.
Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran,
Out where the horses were tied.
I caught a good one.
It looked like it could run.
Up on its back
And away I did ride,
Just as fast as I
Could from the West Texas town of El Paso
Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico.
Back in El Paso my life would be worthless.
Everything's gone in life; nothing is left.
It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
My love is stronger than my fear of death.
I saddled up and away I did go,
Riding alone in the dark.
Maybe tomorrow
A bullet may find me.
Tonight nothing's worse than this
Pain in my heart.
And at last here I
Am on the hill overlooking El Paso;
I can see Rosa's cantina below.
My love is strong and it pushes me onward.
Down off the hill to Felina I go.
Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys;
Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.
I have to make it to Rosa's back door.
Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side.
Though I am trying
To stay in the saddle,
I'm getting weary,
Unable to ride.
But my love for
Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen,
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.
From out of nowhere Felina has found me,
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
One little kiss and Felina, good-bye.
