i've already bought my evac kit, just waiting for headers to go to shiat 1st. while i'm at it, i'm havin o2 bungs installed as well, for easier mixture tuning!i've herd the evac kit will give another 5hp just from sealing up the rings better, my bbf has alittle blow by(no pvc), that's why i'm doin it.

What kind of kit did you get? I picked up a Mr Gasket kit yesterday.

They work well as long as you don't have mufflers. Also put the tubes into the side of the collector. If put in the bottom, water will get in on wet headers.

Duane- What about baffles?

Baffles will keep the evac from working. I know. ;)

I have a set of headers over here you can look at with the bungs in.

Baffles in the valve covers are fine, its the baffles in the headers that screw up the pressure. You can't put the baffles pre-evac (closer to the collector), they won't slide in past the bung. The bungs, like mine are angled inside the headers to draw the crankcase pressure as the exhaust passes over it.

Baffels also cause back pressure. Evac works on a ventura vacuumn principal which baffels break up.

I had a puke tank on mine. I have some blowby and i was getting oil out my dipstick when i would run it at wot. I put the evac on and it got rid of the oil out the dipstick.

I also take it, it would not be a good Idea do to this on TT headers.

Taylorman do you have a restrictor in that line?
a buddy had his set up like that but after a good 10
min run his oil pressure would start to fluctuate
all the vacuum would hold the oil in the top of the engine
he ended up tapping the fittings and running a holley jet
in them
works fine now

Duane'll correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure he's running an evac setup on his blown lake boat (yea, right, 120+mph "lake" boat) and it has TT jacketed bassets on it.

Yer right, that is Duanes. I wonder where that memory is from. Guess it means I don't hang out at his shop nearly enough.
I am pretty sure I saw a setup on a boat there that he & I spoke about ... but that was last fall sometime or so a year ago.
