The problem is shipping costs have gone up as well as gas costs. I can't understand how Summit ships heads for free, it costs me $50 to ship on Aluminum Head.

Summit can ship that head for free, because they got a deeper cut than anyone else in the industry on it, due to the fact that they ***** the price out so low that their competition won't be able to make a buck on the deal. So if ABC Auto Parts pays $650 for the head, Summit pays $600. Now you know where the extra $50 bucks to pay for that free shipping comes in.
Since you just buy your product from CP and then re-sell it, why not just have them drop ship it to your customer? It would get to your customer quicker, and CP probably gets a better UPS rate than you do considering the volume they send out.

Summit also hits you with a handling charge of like 10 or 12 dollar per order last time I checked. So is shipping really free from them?
I'm sure Summit and Jegs get "substantial" discounts from UPS also based on their large volume. My guess would be in the 50% range or more from what someone who walks into a ups store off the street would get.

All-98% of my orders are drop shipped from CP.
With the shipping cost increase what used to cost $13 now costs $17.
