i just got mine today! i bought it off e-bay & got ripped off! (sort of speak)i paid a lil over $300 for crap! it had a froze cable & shifter. (full of rust!) the actual diverter checked out to be ok. i want to know is hows urs mounted? i have a 80 sanger s/j w/ jg pump. it has no snoop or droop. where the hell am i suppose to run this cable? 3 ft of S curve or what.im really pissed due to me spendin the last three hours tryin to unfreeze the shifter! seller statin its all good! if i have to buy a cable, where do i mount this thing?it is an ol' skool jet o vater. can it be mounted up side down, so the cable is mounted on the right side (lookin at it from the rear) or does it have to be mounted on the left side (like a american car left side) show me some pics! i can fabricate anything! thanks!

Mine is mounted on the passenger side transom. The cable goes over the pump to the drivers side, loops toward the motor and out the transom adapter.

well this is what i have, its a sanger super jet & it doesnt have a transome adapter. it is round where the jet comes out, not a square like the rest (no pun intended) if i can get the cable securely mounted on the tail end of the transom & just use a morse style cable, do you think it will work? i guess my question should be is how tight should it be to pull the lever to the diverter? i got it almost all set up & when i pull back on the lever i am fightn against the tension from the reverse bucket cable. what ya think? i have part bmx parts on my boat for my cable hold down(seat clamp=hutch) pics will follow in a few hours.

oh, i wanted to add, that i went to CP performance yesterday (@ 1hr-20mins away) im not knockin the place, but i went to chase down some parts or to see what they look like & most of this stuff is discontinued (berkeley jetOvator) for that clamp that goes on the steering tube, they wanted $120! for the threaded arm that goes on the outside of the transom $90. lil to say, i couldnt believe it! i made a big mistake by buyin a original jetOvator off e-bay that was not complete, i should have bought a place diverter. i am goin to make what i have work. i will keep yall posted.

Geometry won't work! The steering and trim have to work together. If it is connected like you are saying, the boat will turn when trimming.
