It shouldn’t be a problem getting a room but I would make reservations now just incase. You can always cancel a couple days before FC if your not going to make it.

You must have attracted them! I was out yesterday... launched from Harry's at 1:30 and the lice were thin. Even headed up toward the casinos and floated back. Other than the utter stupidity of the lice on the water, it was a good day.

BTW- My buddy found a rock bar directly across the river from the ramp with his direct drive no less . Never seen a boat hung up on rocks in middle of the river like that . The funniest thing I ever seen .

I need to make a few more adjustments but i think mid to very high 90's is going to happen this year without NOS.

ended up adding more wedge switching to a tapered shoe and lowering the shoe 1/4" then dropping the ride plate to 1* up. After adding a gauge i found my bowl preasure was only 20psi at WOT now it's 40PSI after dropping the shoe. The proposie is still slightly there but it's getting tuned out. I can drive through it now and it goes away. I may add some trim tabs as everyone says that helps these hulls alot. SO far no signs of chine walking which is also supposed to be an issue with these hulls but i did widen my center lifting strakes.

Ya Todd you heard correct its totally striped right now just got all my parts today less the pump from Tommy. im gana finish glassing in the seat mounts tomarrow and get the carpet laid then rewire it install the new stering and gages then the tanks after that wait for the pump.. Either at the Edgewater or the Avi. I think alot of the people are staying at the Avi. Gated and locked boat parking with heavy security at the Avi, so I don't foresee any problems there. Plus they with give you 2 meals and $25 for gas. can't beat that !!!

Yep they lock up the gates a 10:00 PM. I showed up after 10:00 PM a couple times and they sent someone out to unlock the gates so I could put my boat away. I thought that was pretty cool of them. No hassles at all.

The AVI is definitely the shit when it come to boat security. I was out there after dark tinkering with the boat the first time we went for CBBB.
MR. Security guard pulled up in his golf cart, asked a few questions, shot the shit for a few and he motored on off. Came back and checked up a couple times, even gave me a ride back to the hotel when I was done.
I can't say enough good about them.
Very pleasant experience. I will be back.

Freeboard challenge is held two times a year, in May and October. Its just a time that all of us can meet up and its not too hot. The crowd is layd back from what I could tell last May. During the night you have the option of going out with friends, but the day is chill.
I went last May for the first time and I'll be back every year. The people are great. This next one is the weekend of the 14th of October. I'm personally going to be at Big Bend, just South of Laughlin on the California side. Its a parking lot for camping, right on the water with a personal launch. I think its like $5 a day or something for camping. There is a cove there that no one comes in that kids swim and play in, but is accessible to our boats on a nice beach. You can't get out of the cove until after 12pm when the water level gets up.
Some others are staying at the Avi as you have read probably.

Flow charts show the water coming up later than summer. Flows start coming in at 9am (6am in summer), with max at 1pm. Figure 1 hour lag time for flows from Davis to reflect in Laughlin.

With about a week and a half 'till FC, remember a couple things.

On a more serious note, everyone BE CAREFUL on the water! Give other boaters plenty of room just in case, 'cuz shit happens. Observe the marker buoys... no wake means NO WAKE! Watch your alcohol intake.... if you've been pounding them, stay off the water! As I've said since FC started, everyone in attendance is part of the boating community and has a responsibility to look out for each other, and help police the gathering.
None of this should be news to anyone, or keep people from enjoying the weekend.

Yep I am sure the AVI lost their ass on us last trip. $25 of free gas, free breakfast and dinner. The only breakfast that I did pay for was $.99. Snuck the cooler into the pool area so I didn’t have to buy any drinks. Told Todd I would buy him a drink and he end up buying me one instead. Shiat I didn’t even throw a quarter in the video poker machine. What a great trip.

The Schiada deal is down in Parker. He's probably thinking Bluewater, but typed Avi. Actually, the state park in Laughlin is called "Big Bend of the Colorado State Park", so it can be confusing when I'm lazy and just call it Big Bend. :hammer2:

Thanks to all that came out and braved the weather! After 6 FC's, the weather was bound to catch up with us. As far as pics, the official FC photographer forgot the camera, so yes, we're pic-less. Maybe Lisa has a few. A BIG thanks to everyone that gave the family and me rides this weekend, too. It's kind of awkward being at a boat related event without one, but that's the great thing about you guys... you helped us enjoy ourselves without feeling like the third wheels.
Got the Advantage home last night without any highway carnage. It's nice actually being able to tow it home without a tour bus trying to mate with your boat and trailer. Todd, check your schedule... I'll be calling you and John today to see when's the best time to get the boat to you.
The house looks like a used toy lot now, with the garage stuffed with cars, the driveway full of boats, and the daily drivers on the street. Sure glad I don't live in one of those association neighborhoods! :rollside: I think I'll piss off the neighbors and fire EVERYTHING up at once........

Anytime, we had a great time with ya, your boys remind me of my 2 boys when they were younger.You guys are going to come down to Grass Beach again for the day or Camping trips, even in the winter. Great fishing, wildlife, and lots of dirt,sand tracks. Great Family Fun !!!! We’ve been down that way many times on our way to Topock from AVI but never stopped to really enjoy it. We had a great time on Julie’s narrated tour and look forward to seeing you guys down that way next year. You guys should show up for our 4/20/07 Moabi Trip. Check out Roostwear for details. BTW..I always wondered where Grass Beach was I looked for the grass every time I passed the marina and never found it. Now I know why there is none. :)

Hey, the Stevens will be getting wet next month..... head on out! After seeing what little (read NO) traffic there was on the river this weekend, the odds are good I can give it a good shakedown run without needing a kidney belt.
