Taylorman are you talkig about the boat drags at Liberty?
If so Gary Payne would be the one to ask. He goes by Cheyenne 372 on here if I remember right.

I live in Crosby, which is not too far from there. If you know a general location of where it is at I'll go by and check it out.

Yep...been there a bunch of times. It would be way too short for us to race there now, and it looks like it is so grown up that it's not much of a lake anymore.
Log on to Google Earth and put in the following coordinates and you can see the layout of the track. Note that there was an island running down the middle of the course....and a dirt road at the end of the track.
The coordinates are:
30 04' 41.67" N
94 45' 35.93 W
If you want to drive there, take Main Street (FM 227/146) Northeast out of town to Mizell Road.
Turn Right on Mizell Road and the lake is just up there on the left.

I just checked it again and I think that you'll have to log on to Google Earth, then type in Liberty, Tx as the destination you're looking for.
When it zooms on Liberty, move the cursor North East until you find the coordinates that I posted above and you'll see the lake.
Remember that there is a "Degree" symbol after the first number that is not showing on that post.

I am looking through some of my old photos and found a few from Liberty. I believe this photo is Steve Clark driving Jim Bristow's Shady Lady at Liberty in 1985. It was an Unblown gas jet and as you can see it was an Injected 540" Chevy, All Aluminum in an Earl's lighweight 16' Texas Tunnel. This was one quick puppy!

Anyone know the guy on the left? Were'nt the styles great back then? Short shorts and knee high socks. Would you believe the guy with the socks has been in film production?
