I got to check out a ship that sank in Sweden in 1628 that they recovered and are preserving in Stockholm. Its called the Vasa. I just stared at it for many hours imagining having to sail in one of those.....Probably one of the most fascinating artifacts I've ever encountered.

Isn't this the same ship that usually sits parked at the fox (I think it's fox anyhow) studios down in Rosarito? I'll have to see if I still have the pictures but I took some pictures of a ship that is either this one or a very similar one docked down there during the summer of 04.
I thought they do all of the filiming for Pirates down in Mexico??

I don't think it is a very good time to be filming in Mexico because its a little windy :)

I believe I had pictures of that too. I posted all the pics in a thread a long time ago but they were all lost when ***boat did that update and knocked the photos out of the image gallery. There was a whole bunch of cool stuff down there. Diferent ships, even this giant tank looking thing with two gigantic cannons sticking out of it.
Maybe I'll have to head down there next summer and take some more pics. The studio is located right next to a small community of beach houses where I have stayed with friends a couple of times. The last time I was down there there was talk of them building a theme park.

The ship is dock at King Harbor at night and then they take it out off the coast of Palos Verdes and Redondo Beach for filming. Its pretty intense when they fire off the canons

No comparison to my daughters stalking effort.......She has a dang lifesize cardboard figure of him in her room and about a dozen posters amoung several smaller items as well. Not only that but she can probably recite the entire 1st film and likely most if not all of the 2nd movie.
She's a Orlando junkie...LOL

I DO have a signed authographed picture (from e-bay) and a few posters...I was just fighting with my co-workers about which poster I can hang in our classroom...they say none, I say at least two!!

For those who aren't familiar with Wayne Taylor, he built his own engine around a Merc crank. It has expansion chambers and some other kung fu that make it a pretty strong customer. I haven't seen it but LT here upgraded from a 300x to run it.

we were filming about a mile away from in last week... we blew up a car..

They have been shooting fo like 3 weeks now out in front of my sisters house in Palos Verdes. It's pretty cool to sit out on here deck and see Johnny Depp (Through Binoculars). Last week they sunk one of them in a battle seen.
