I have been trying to sell my 1985 Bahner,
http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/5859sellboat-med.jpg http://www2.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123723 I am considering selling it minus the engine.
What do you think it's worth ?

I would say 10-12k, if you hold on to it til spring it will be worth more :)

I hate to tell you this, but an old hull doesn't hold that kind of value.
Look at Cyclone Mike's last boat. He completely restored the hull, a Roger's TR. The boat was an awesome looking piece, complete with set-back pump, blueprinted bottom, new interior, custom tow cover and fresh gelcoat(all done professionally). I think he finally let it go(less engine and pump) for less than he spent on the gel work.
Your hull looks to be in great shape but they just don't hold value. You'd probably have better luck if you listed it at around $7-8K(if you're talking without motor) and kept your fingers crossed.
Just my $.02.

I think 10-12 grand is in the ballpark. I know I've spent more for less. Trick is finding somebody that will appreciate all the mods.

Sh-t, I would be happy to sell my boat for 10-12 with a TR motor. 10-12 is high minus engine regardless of what is in it. Petrofied went for around 5000 if I am correct with trailer, minus pump, engine, tanks and it was an 82 southwind that was rigged for the first time in 2000 or so. I would say to look on dragboats.com and see what they are going for there.

I have it for sale right now complete boat for $11,000, and was asking what it would be worth without the engine. If I could get $7,000 without engine, including all the marine hardware to make it run, I would be happy.

This Boat has a 550 Horsepower 10:1 427, and goes 85 MPH I feel there is a few more MPH in the setup. If I took it to ming again I think it could come close to 90, with help from the smart guys in the pits.

10 to 11k sounds good.
I sold my 1980 Bahner semi V, blown 496 for 11k.
There is a buyer for every boat :)
Sad thing is just like everyone else i had 18k in the motor alone

It has a nice Pump on it, race prepped impeller,Ultimate wear ring, hydraulic Place Diverter with stainless hoses, new Berkeley droop snoot, New intake with shoe and rideplate, stainless MPD intake loader.

This Impeller was done by MPD, and I gained 5 MPH with it.

MPD loader, this boat has a great holeshot, I think it's becase of the loader.

This is a tunnel bottom boat, similar to a Placecraft, or Southwind tunnel dragster. This is not a heavy layup.

What RPM does it turn with that "B" impeller? Got any detailed spec's on the motor to support 550HP? (head flow #'s, cam spec's ect.) Thats a very nice looking boat just curious what you did to get 550 hp out of a 427 c.i. with iron heads and pump gas. Also what was done to go from 78mph to 85mph? Sounds like someone will get a pretty nice boat for the money. :)

550 horse power is based on turning a B impeller @ 5900 rpms.
The 427 has a Crower solid lifter cam part # 01355, http://www.crower.com/misc/cam_spec/cam_finder.php?part_num=01355&x=29&y=14 Rectangle port heads, Wiesco 10:1 pistons, compression my be a little higher but not much.
To go from 78 to 85 MPH I put on these Edelbrock 750's
http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/7221nice427.jpg
and this impeller.

From what I can tell 5900 rpms would be right at 550 horsepower on this chart.

Thanks, sounds like the boat is well worth the money, You couldn't duplicate this boat from a fixer upper for near the price on this boat. Been there, done that, all i can say is you have to love to build boats or your just throwing money away trying to restore one for less then just buying one done.
