Looking to find out how tight to tighten the split gland bolts. The 2 bolts on the plate where the shaft meets the pump. One was kinda loose and dont know how tight to make. In a book I have with pump parts look like it calls the piece split gland which has packing rings? Dont want to damage. Any additional pump info would be great. Thanks

slowly tighten it untill it doesn't leak. I believe it should drip occasionally. The key is to slowly tighten as to not overtighten.

If you ever rebuild that pump or want a worry free solution install one of those seal packs that you just pop in tighten down and forget :rollside:
HTP, Dons, I think alot of the supplier's carry them, I have had mine for 2 seasons and never leaked yet.
