How much would a pair of 1997 mercury outboards, 260hp with 60 hours on them ,be worth?

I'll give you $500 each! :rollside:
Just kidding... They are probably worth between $4k and $7k (each) depending on which lowers they have, nikasil bores or steel sleeves, time last last rebuild, condition of the paint and cowlings, and whether they include fuel and trim pumps or not. The "lefty" will tend to lose some of it's value if it's not sold with it's brother though. In that situation, it's better to sell the motor less lower and sell the lower to someone who needs a lefty.

Those look like CLE or sport masters lowers, not speed masters

UT is right...CLE done up to look like a Sportmaster or a Sportmaster gearcase (they are shiftable right? - not a speedmaster).
2:1 was also not an available ratio that I was aware of on a 260...so either they are 1.87:1 or they have been changed (right UT? ).

Outboards have always been worth their weight in gold.
In the current market 4K to 7k depending on condition and the jewlery ya throw in.
4 strokes are starting to takover the market, but their prices are astroF#@kinnomical, almost a price out condition, so they should be an easy sell.
Don't be afraid to bust the pair up, but try as a pair first.

Those look like nice clean motors. If the compression numbers check out and they are that clean under the cowling you shouldn't have any trouble getting the upper end of what I said before, maybe even more. Some people won't like the 2:1 gearcases on a non-drag motor, but that is personal preference. I hate to send people over there, but post them over at www.screamandfly.com and someone will buy them up. Just be on the lookout for a few sharks and scumbags over there. I'd ask $7000-$7500 each and see what kind of offers you get. Of post the pair for $13500 or so. Why are you selling the motors without the boat?

I can't sale the boat.So i was just thinking I might want to part it out. Someone might think that they can build the boat without motors cheap.I just need the money for my new one.But after taking it out to the lake, I might want to keep it. Because I think I'm selling it cheap now.So I might sell off my blower motor.I have to also put money into my house.
