I took the boat out yeasterday and it ran great, but the out drive went into nutral it is stuck in drive but its like in neutral. Has this happen to anyone else. And how much is it going to cost me.P.S my old screen name was dexman38.

What's up Dex? This may have a little something to do with your relocation of the shifter mechanism. I recall hearing that you had a little "work" done. I would check or have that checked first. Don't be a stranger.

shift cable or linkage, I've had that problem on 2 different boats, 1 cable was new and stretched, one came disconnected at the drive 1 trip after a drive service, they forgot to put a washer in, and when the drive was all the way up and turned a certain way, it allowed the cable end to slip out of the linkage. Not expensive usually, but it is a boat right? :) :)

gary lost my phone so please call. also their is drive oil leaking from the top cap of the out drive . I think their is more troble then just the cable. Any ideals.

pulled the top cap off and their s metal shavings . Any recomendations to a good shop in the riverside area. :cry:

Yep this day sucks arse My outdirve blew out on the trailer before I even got the pig on the water! On the bright side I wasn't out on the water miles away from the ramp :rolleyes:
