Another reason why parents really needs to watch their kids around swimming pools .....
The boys (2 y.o. and 1 y.o.) were playing outside yesterday after noon. We have a fully fenced yard with a locked gate so the kids are able to play in the yard. We also have a pool in the back yard that has a seperate 5' vinyl fence with a "self latching" gate around it. I (mom) was outside picking up the toys, went in the house to put something away and with in 2 minutes I heard the 2 y.o yelling "help mommy help". I ran outside to see what was going on and the 1 y.o had pulled hard enough on the pool gate to get it open, had climbed up the pool ladder, had his chin and arms in the pool. The 2 y.o. saw him and ran over grabbed onto his legs so he could not fall in all the way and held him until I got him. Thank god nathan was there because gods knows what could have happened to his brother.
None the less, the fence guy was here this morning to adjust the gate properly, and we are going to be getting a serperate clip so this cannot happen again!!

Thanks for everyone's kind words. Just FYI I was at work and got this phone call so my heart about jumped out of my chest too. The wife is going to have to get her own screen name to clear up any of these misunderstandings.
Nate (2 yr old), my newest hero is going to get a big DQ treat when daddy gets home tomorrow.

Great news and a good lesson learned with no lasting negative outcome. Let the 2 year old "pig out" at the DQ :)

Nothing would make daddy happier. Well, maybe my wife posing in an avatar like yours but I will take baby steps. Nate as a lifesaver is a good start. Thanks, Nick

I am so glad to hear good news - especially of this variety! Cudos to Nathan and to his parents who obviously taught him well. I will buy both of you (or all three if it's ok) a beer next time we meet.
