Hurley,
For some reason I thought you had an Ultra 247. Did you at one point?
Also,
That boat with that motor must see at least 90mph. Am I right?
Here are your pics too:

Thanks for posting the pics Thor. I did have the 24/7. I loved that one as well. Just went to the source as the 24/7 came from the DCB mold. In good conditions you may see 80. This motor is set up to be conservative/reliable. A lab finished prop would get more. I'm running a stock bravo 1 and WOT is 5k. Should see at least 5300 for max speed. The soft touch is set at 6k so there is room to gain. Teague has a kit to add much more power to this motor. I believe an intercooler alone will gain 100 hp.
How is that 24/7 running? It sure looks nice.

Mine runs fantastic. I have no complaints (knock on wood). My HO does great and I spin a labbed 27P. You are right on about the "good conditions". I get tossed around a tad in the rough stuff, but I cant complain. Those boats are bullets.

There is a Superchiller listed on ebay for an HP 525 SC. It would add about 100 HP. Very interesting.

Thor,
Do you have tabs on that beast? I just drop the tabs down when it gets choppy and it smooths right out. I have a brand new set of HP 1000 dana tabs if your looking. They are complete with pumps hoses ect....

Thank you for the nice compliments. :yuk:
DCB has never been known for graphics. Especially during this era. If you want graphics buy the Ultra 24/7, that's what they are known for. However, Ultra can't compare when it comes to the DCB rigging and hardware. I've had both.

Graphics date a boat. This boat could pass for a 2002 because of the lack of graphics...No, no, if it was a 2002 it would have hockey sticks graphics. :rollside:
Nice boat BTW, good luck with the sale.

He named it "Our Whining Bitch" because that blower was so damn loud in the backseat...lol. We had alot of good times in that boat.

Sheesh Hurley, take a prozac. Nobody dissed your boat. I was all set to get one when Dave was still making them, but before I could, he sold the mold to those idiots at Ultra. They took a great boat and turned it into a stick of bubble gum. The REASON I liked the 24 so much is because it did not have a stupid looking paint job, it was not too much, not too little, it was just right for my tastes. Your boat is a great boat, I'll take nothing away from it, 525, HP1000's, steering, am I missing anything? All I said is that I liked something with a little color. Thats all. Straight white isn't my taste. As far as my hallett is concerned, you best stick with your boat, all you'll ever see of me is a sonic boom and a vapor trail. :rollside:
All kidding aside, I'm sorry if I offended you, that was never my intention, it was just a thought. Congrats on the sale and good luck with your next boat.

OK, here is the real deal. I got a call from someone who wanted to buy this boat but had to sell his older model Hallet first. You happen to be selling an older model Hallet. He was so serious that we set up a water test for today. He was also told that someone else was looking at it this week.
When you made that post, I assumed that you were that guy trying to bad mouth the boat in hopes of getting the first guy to back out. If this was the case it’s highly unethical and that’s why I fired off. If you’re not that guy I apologize. If you're the guy??

Thats the one! One of my good buddies is Carlos' brother in law. I didn't know it was his old boat until after I bought it. Its a small world.

98, I still need to drag it out of the garage and into daylight so that I can get some finished pics. Click this link, it's take you to a thread I posted back in January, while I was still working on it. Let me know if you have any questions....
