I bet it's hard to get insurance with all the hurricanes. I would call a few boat broker in florida. They are always shipping boats around the U.S.

I have shipped a lot of boats to the CG test lab in Maryland and it ain't cheap. The best way to do this is find someone who is already shipping boats so you can get a volume discount. The more boats on the truck, the cheaper it is. Contact boat manufacturers in your area and see if any are shipping boats east. They might give you a deal.
The suggestion about knowing someone who is going that way and will tow it is a good one, but make sure it is insured and that you trust this persons driving ability. I had a driver drop a boat on the highway in Tennessee because he didn't properly secure it. What a mess.

Please let me know what you find out. My business partner just bought a boat in Florida this week and we are researching on how to get it out to So Cal.. Thank you in advance.

Find a boat coming this way, and then the return is cheaper. There are two of you in this thread. This is who I used to pull the Spectre out here.....

Oh and at todays rates you better figure close to 2 bucks a miles.... it's going to cost you..

I used Dotan to pull my trailer to it's new home in New Mexico... I recommend them also if that's the way you go...

When I moved to Tampa three years ago from Orange County I towed my boat (since I had to transport the dogs anyway) so I can't help with the shipping question.
If you have any Tampa questions before or after you get here, feel free to PM me! :) I think you'll like it here.

Try Jeff Murray, aka bgchuby on the boards.. He has towed a bunch of cigarettes, skaters, outerlimits, etc etc across the country and back.
