You think there'd be a code of ethics among boaters....but guess not.
Had my trailer parked at CC over the labor day weekend since we slipped the boat. Move out day comes and I go to get my trailer and someone had jacked my LED taillights right out of my trailer. Some f'd up sheit if you ask me.
I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. And yes, I learned my lesson to remove the lights if I'm gonna park the trailer overnight.
Just can't believe the flat out disrespect of other boaters.

You know it had to be a another boater, only we know that the damn things cost 18 bucks for one Light! And there is no way to secure the freakin things. Almost as bad as when my bunks got stolen! Now that was a nice surprise.

I don't think it's a boater ripping them off. I would say it's the Meth heads trying to make a quick buck to support their habit.... :)

Good way to find out.. Hit the local pawn shop and see if any low life POS was trying to off them  I was thinking about changing over to them myself, I think I'll just keep the old school incandesent lights

i had the bunks stolen off a trailer at site 6 parking lot and i was only on the water for a couple hours doing some prop testing on a wednesday. The wife went to get the truck and trailer, then as she was backing down the ramp i had to do a double take before i realized the bunks were gone, bolts and all.

i have seen some of these lights & incandecents(sp) hangin off trailers before. it was from haulin ass out of the water from lauching, the water forcing them out of there gasket. then dude got all mad sayin someone tried to steal his lights.what a dumbass!

Don't buy the push in type with rubber grommet. Install the flange mount type and use a pop rivet to fasten them in. I did it on my trailer and they would be fairly tough to steal without a drill to drill out the rivet.
It's the type on the left.

no one i know of.. i have had a house in Havasu for almost 20 years. we very seldom go out on the weekends and never on any holidays. this was the first time i have ever had anything stolen there and it happened last may. i am just glad i noticed it before driving the boat up on it. if the ramp was busy i would have been waiting for her just past the no wake zone and may not have even noticed since the trailer would have been under water when i got up to it. now that would have pissed me off.

Playbouy, I have I think 8 of the flange style 48 Diode LED lights left over from CEM days.. How many do you need? If it's only 2, give me an address and I'll shoot them out to you for free, you just pay the shipping. If it's 4, give me 10 bucks ea for the other 2 lights.
RD <---- feels bad that someone jacked ya

I have rubber grommets, no one steals them they just fall by themselves. Maybe I need to slow down when I back the trailer in the water??

Hey RiverDave...that's very cool of you. I think we'd feel too bad though to take them!
Luckily the Marina actually had some trailer lights - just the standard oval...for a lovely 18/piece. Playbouy (my hubby) put them in and at least got one hooked up so we weren't driving anywhere with two gaping holes in our trailer.
All was well the night before, then Tuesday we pulled up and I could not believe it. Lights were gone and the wires just hanging out....he had worked so hard to get those in there...sealed and glued from every angle. I can't believe someone would just literally rip them out and live with themselves. Who would've thought that we'd have to start taking our lights out and keeping them in the truck. What a sad world.
I was LIVID - he had to calm ME down because I was ready to kick some ass!!

Well it's up to you.. Their just sitting in a box across the street. I was going to sell them on here, but honestly I'm too lazy to list them.. On top of which I really don't feel like dealing with some jackass that feels like I owe him the world becuase he bought a 20 dollar light off of me.. LOL
Seriously, if you want them they are free. No worries. They are the kind that you can either bolt or pop rivet to the trailer, I'd be real surprised if somebody jacked them the second time around when they are pop riveted to the trailer. ;)

What did you end up doing? Did you have to leave your boat in the water, barrow a trailer or what. That is so messed up. You are lucky you didn't try to drive on. Ouch.

I bet one tweeker stole the first set to sell, and the owner of that trailer stole a pair from someone else.
Then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else, then that owner stole a set from someone else,
Then Playbuoy got his stolen.

We ended up buying lights from the shop on the marina, luckily they had some that fit. Got them installed and the boat pulled out just before the monsoon closed in.
We didn't want (another) ticket or some idiot to hit the boat/trailer while braking with no lights then suing us. Our luck it would be the jerkoff that stole them in the first place. Hmm...maybe that's what it was....all a set up....
